Somebody was talking about Carlyle on another thread recently - I thnk a Ducks' fan - and I swear I remember watching a Ducks/Whoever game where one of the announcers said the Ducks just don't listen to Carlyle anyway. Ever. The comment came about because it was one of those games where the Ducks were piling on the penalties. Again. I think it was him. Anybody else remember hearing that?

I'm not thrilled with it, but I think the only way Cheli wins this is because it's his last chance at it. But methinks sentimentality won't/didn't play a gigantic role in the vote. But I would be very happy for him if it happened. And it wouldn't be a crime if he did win it.

I hope you're right. As someone wrote recently, if our first line can just neutralize the Ducks' first line, our chances are already excellent. The other part of that winning equation has got to be that our other three lines - especially #2 and #3 - have to score. Period.

I emailed Directv and they got back to me thanking me for being such a valued customer over all these years , thanked me for my suggestion and said they forwarded it to "management". Of course they're always looking for new ideas and new programming. They said that. They actually said that! But you're right. If enough people make their opinions known on this, it can and probably will work.

And I'll bet whoever loves you is very proud of you! You go, dude! :band:

OK, according to another thingie I printed out, Versus will also be showing the games on Tuesday the 5th, the next Tuesday (the 12th) and the following Thursday. SO far - on Directv - if VS shows any game, it's blacked out anywhere else (at least outside of the Detroit area), including FSN. So I can't tell you how I hope you're right. But like I said, so far it has not been the case. Of course those last Tuesday and Thursday games are the 6th and 7th games, so if the Wings play their game, SCREW Versus! Thanks to you and you too, MrSandMan.
