How about a team - one of the very few - that can authentically and realistically roll four lines? How about a team that would define "tough" differently from you? Again. If the Ducks use fighting/violence as a strategy as they usually do, and they are called for it like the rules now designate, they should be out on their asses. Of course, first I'd like to see them beat up on the Sharks. That is more than permissable (sp?) in my book.

So well put. Can't relate to the 49'ers but the perspective about the Wings is very much appreciated. Most of us don't realize how blessed we are, being fans of this team. And we waste so much time nitpicking about issues that for this team, will probably never be a reality.

Cool. Let's just let this play this out and for instance, see how long the Ducks last, and for that matter Parros. He's really talking about himself when he says "they'll" be hurting. I suggest to you that he's going to have a short-lived career because of what he's usually out there for. And I can only wish the same for the Ducks who use fighting as a strategy.

v3rs3 Rating: 1 View Member Profile post Today, 02:31 PM Post #249 Draftee Member Joined: Today, 10:11 AM QUOTE (Mike @ April 15, 2009 - 02:01PM) * If I recall correctly, once the Wings played the Jackets after the 8-2 loss, they shut your entire team down including Nash and Mason and won 4-0. I guess those 2 decided not to show up in that big game. Anyways, that will be the team that you are facing in the playoffs. Talk about domination. Good lucking winning 4 games against them. If I recall, Rick Nash is the worst hockey player ever. Also, I know I'm trolling but I'm too chicken to come back and face the music when my team gets destroyed. Maybe if we tied Bettman to a tree somewhere in Peru and took his cell phone away...?
-
Geeze, I hope you're wrong. ..sheeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeit.. ... But I also agree with Yzermania. Sharks/Ducks could be an upset, depending partly on who gets hurt during their blood-bath-related series.
-
Nawww....THIS time he'll be right. Didn't he say the Wings would win last year? I hope...?
-
Whatever works. You just said it for me too. The fourth line with Draper, Maltby and Helm OR Leino would definitely be an energy line, however you put those four together.
-
Thank you, jesus! (And Cusimano bros) He's not on either list ( I don't know whether he's a linesman or ref and I don't care!). OK, so that's a start....!
-
Wow. Really? I never would have guessed. I believe I speak on behalf of Blue Jackets' fans AND hockey fans everywhere when I say, "There but for the grace of hockey gods, go I!"
-
SO well put. THANKS. I think it's cool to laugh with fellow fans but when I start laughing at newbie fans, that only makes me look bad. We need to support them AND pro hockey. Enough with the looking down our noses at fellow fans. What the hell's the point except to make yourself feel better for maybe 5 minutes?
-
Then again, when you can stop laughing at your own sad jokes, why don't you just volunteer to offer your services in net during Wings' practices? I'm sure they can use your physical expertise too.
-
I agree with your take on Draper and how the team plays. But there's no way Downey can come close to being the very large pesky gnat on the ice that Maltby is. I still say he plays his role, especially on frustrating opponents trying to bring the puck up ice, often making them lose the puck in the process. Both he and Draper shine at that.

You guys/girls are wondrously sick and twisted.

ALl I want to know is if the ref/linesman who called that penalty shot at the end of the Wings/Hawks game is on the list. Don't remember his name. Help? Thanks.

This is great stuff also, even if you are copycatting yourself. To repeat it/modify it was more than worth it! Thanks for the laughs.- 687 replies

Here's NHL.com staffers' take on this contest: Detroit will win if... It doesn't get flustered. Too often, good goalies seem to get in the head of the Red Wings, who like to make the pretty play and score the fancy goal. Mason has shown the ability to stone even the most offensive of teams, so the Red Wings can't lose their composure if the rookie steals a period, or even a game. The Red Wings have the talent and the tenacity to break through against any team -- as long as they stick with the game plan that has served them so well during the regular season. Columbus will win if... They do everything absolutely right. It's no big secret to say that the Blue Jackets will have to be at the top of their game in order to solve the defending Cup champion. But Hitchcock has a way of making his team's play close-to-perfect hockey. For this team, it means getting consistent scoring from a line other than Nash's, killing power plays effectively and scoring on their own power play more often than once every blue moon. If they can do all that -- and Mason is on his game -- the Jackets have a puncher's chance here.
