There ya go and I agree. Mostly. Although I'm not sure "uninterested" is the right word. Problem is, right now I can't think of a better one. Mebee "unfocused"? "unmotivated"? Whadevah!

(Young Guns --->) It doesn't matter how good Mason plays, if the Red Wings want it, they'll get it. Simple as that. No goalie - Mason or anyone else - is going to stand in the way of a determined Wings team, unless they have talent throughout. Something CBJ, and most other teams, don't have. This quote from Young Guns says it a helluva lot better for me. The Detroit Red Wings can win the Stanley Cup again. As a team, they have the talent and they have the depth. Bottom line remains - how badly do they want it?

Vladifan replied to Drake_Marcus's topic in General
Thank you! Geeze, I can't imagine the perserverence and stamina required for this, but THANKS! Meanwhile, we also don't look real good on blocked shots, do we? sooprahz, sooprahz..... -

I just checked Versus and they will be showing hockey games on Wednesday and Thursday night on Directv but don't bother telling us which games they will be.
-
I hope you're right. I don't see anything listed on Directv on Center Ice after the 12th. It seems in the past we've gotten TSN on Directv, but it's been haphazard and periodic, depending on what Canadian teams they deigned to show. As you'll probably all read later on this thread, the first round and probably the second round of Deetroit games will be on FSN-D. We get the DTV sports package, so we should get to see those games. If not....hell hath no fury like a Wings' fan scorned....

The "I Support Dan Cleary and Brad Stuart" Thread
Vladifan replied to xBrave_Heartx's topic in General
Only thing I'd throw in here is that for whatever reason that has absolutely no basis in logic, intuition or smarts, I think Cleary's gonna have a stellar playoff season. I can only hope the same thing happens for Stuart. AND the Wings. -
Don't know if this was put on here yet, but this is from FoxSports...mebee Detroit. But FSN-D is covering the first roung for sure. And I could have sworn I heard Mickey say they'd be covering the first two rounds. http://msn.foxsports.com/id/9450302 Somebody on here also said they were happy they had Center Ice. I don't think they cover jack from this point on. I hope I'm wrong, but nothing is listed.

Dire and/or negative predictions are such a waste. Alll the reasons why we can't possibly win... I still say "fans" do this so that when and if their team loses, they can say "See??!!" What a self-centered pile of poop. Here's what I want and hope will happen. Hossa will play his ass off. Not only that, he'll be signed sometime in June. Datsyuk, Zetterberg, and Homer will give it their all. Osgood will do just fine because he knows he has to. I believe and predict that even Cleary will pick up his game. The grind line will shine. Again. The defense will Come To Play, and the only one I'm not sure of is Stuart. Motivation? This is the playoffs, and they have all played long enough in this league to know what's required of them. Why would anyone not hope that they figure it out? We've all seen moments during the season where they've had their act together, so why not now? The potential is there. I still believe they're the best team in the NHL, with the classiest of owners, management and coaching. If it doesn't happen, I will feel rotten for them. But I will also know that I supported them all the way and hoped for the best kind of outcome for them. I'm not saying any of the above will happen, but I sure hope to hell it does. Why? Because I'm a fan of the Deetroit Red Wings.

What's our record this season with Columbus? NHL.com doesn't have it up yet. Thanks.
-
That's it. Just wanted to throw this on here. I know it ain't going anywhere. But I wish they were still involved in announcing NHL games. Mebee when ESPN deigns to start broadcasting them again? OK. Bye.

I personally think your team could give both the Sharks and Wings some trouble. I loved the line about "hardnose blue-collar style". In most hockey circles a lot of your team's style is called dirty play. And if the refs call the games the way they should (I know, fat chance...), players like hotshot-after-the-whistle-Jackman should end up having major surgery for all the splinters in his butt. And because your team often takes stupid penalties, we would have a good chance of beating you if our power play stays on target.
-
Nicely done, RWL! Thenk yew! And 55Fan's hand/arm is not hairy. I don't know what the hell you think you're looking at. Maybe a bald head? Like, in the mirror? Get real.
-
They were laughing it up because they knew they'd been handed one by a...uh..."referee".
-
That goal really grabbed ya, eh? Meanwhile, some days I call it pop. Some days, soda. Never coke. Hate coke. Love Pepsi.
-
Yes, indeedy - I concur. Wanted to affirm this suggestion before the start of the second period.
-
Neatest part of that goal (other than it was a goal) is that Flip didn't have time to try to pass it like the crezzy Euro that he is. It was just a wrist-jerk shot. LOVED it.
-
And I always thought his eyes were too close together, but did they call?? HELL no.
-
Honestly, right now I would not miss Stuart or Sammy. Yeah, that hints of hissiness, and yeah, I'm tired of hoping they're gonna figure it out.
-
OHHH, I hope, I hope, I hope. Make it so, Kenny Baby.
-
Damn. Wish this weren't the end of season. I'm gonna miss your game-related wit, cookie.
-
I'm really gonna miss your stuff, HT0001. THANKS AGAIN!!
-
Annnd, just like that, the Ducks go ahead 3-2.

Got home about 20 minutes ago and heard somebody's announcer say that the Blues had had five power plays, the Jackets none. hmmmmm......
