Interesting reading. Thanks for inputing it, Mindfly. I'm still rooting for Ozzie and with any luck at all he can put a curse on the curse.

Wow. I guess you told HER!....

:rotflmao: Meanwhile, how the hell can you be this witty that early in the morning?! Naw, you don't have to answer that. I'm just grateful for the giggles!

Allons, enfants!! Mais Oui! :flash: :colorbounce: :colorspin:

Seems I screwed up. Again. Went to church this morning. That was my first mistake. The minister's theme was "Forgiving Ourselves". In the process, he gently and lovingly reminded us that we are all children of God. He loves us all and no one of us is any better or worse than the other person. You don't have to be a believer in God to understand the logic of that. I am also reminded about another thing I heard - that we can only fix ourselves. So. Therefore. I was wrong to judge Marty Brodeur. It isn't my place to do that. I don't even have to bother with it. I can disagree with what he did but the main thing is I need to live my own life to the best of my ability. He'll never be a hero in my eyes, and that's ok too. But I am in agreement with Electrophile. If I were his spouse, I would know that I had been used and abused by him and I would get the hell out so fast there'd be a mini-whirlwind.

I should know the answer to this, but I don't. When you're on Ticketmaster, Stub Hub, etc., looking at the map of Joe Louis Arena, is the Wings'/opponents' bench on the far side of that map? I.E., "North"? Or is that the penalty benches? Thanks!

I think it's kind of cool and noble that you come here to stand up for one of your players and take whatever flack comes your way. But it's not just us who don't like him. You must know that. Even visitors from other boards have joined in here to comment negatively about him. That doesn't necessarily make us any more right, but you may be choosing to get yourself involved in a lost cause.

THANKS, Sure. I knew they were out there. I saw two of them myself. This is too much of who he is. And when he gets it back, I am beyond grateful. What goes around does come around and that's exactly as it should be.

And there you have it.

I haven't laughed out loud in front of my computer for daaays, now! Thenk yew! Butofcourse!! I'm already thinkin', "Sound of Music", ("The ice is aliiive - with the sound of boarrrdiinngs...") or maybe "Oliver"?....("Goaaalllls, glorious goaaallls!"....)? For the "Puttin' on the Ritz" number (which I can still sing verbatim...LOVE it!), Rovie Ovie could even wear little spangly spats on his skates. As for Dandy Don, hell, he'll probably run and find hisself one of those busker's(?!) suits they used to wear in England while entertaining in vaudeville. You know the ones that light up and blind people even a mile away? With any luck at all he'd slip on a falling sequin...

I'll say it again and then if I haven't made my views clear it's too late anyway. No, he didn't cheat at his sport. If it were steroids, he'd mostly just be hurting himself directly (and ultimately of course, his team's record). Instead, Brodeur - who chose his occupation; who chose to be really good at it and in turn became a hero to millions - deliberately chose to hurt people who really loved him (at one time) and directly hurt a lot more people than just himself. If he wasn't happy in his marriage he should have gotten the hell out of it. Instead, he's bitching because he has to at least pay (heavily) for it monetarily. Lastly, here's something I found in an email from a friend who's just gone through some life-changing experiences - not all good. And it talks about what we can (hopefully) learn from these experiences. "And you learn to deal with evil in its most primal state - the ego."

Now that you mention 'money', there's more he/they could do! They could do a big finish with "Money Makes the World Go 'Round", doing the little 'money' time step before they go into the real song. And if they can't sing or dance for s*** then the hate should come reeeal easy....
-
He chose his profession and he is indeed a public figure. And what he does sure as hell will be aired and talked about. Like it or not, Americans live on that s***, one way or another. He chose to cheat in his marriage, not with just anybody but with his sister-in-law. And whatever his reasons were, his motives were twisted and heobviously thought of nobody but himself, including his children (whom I'm sure he says he loves) and what that might do to them. For a long, long time. Charles Barkley used to say his life was his own and whether he was a public figure or not he didn't owe anything to his fans or the public. I think he really learned a lot from his DUI and has made amends and apologized - mostly to his friends and family. And he's also found how many true friends he really has which is always a good thing. He was honest about what choices he made and he has moved on. Then there's MacGuire, Bonds, Clements, Rodriguez, et al. They all had a chance to come clean and make amends and apologize to their fans. Just like Brodeur, instead they choose to stay mired in denial and go right on hurting the people who love them and fans who are in sore need of heroes. I owe him nothing. Until he figures out what's really important he is a sorry human being.

OH, the picture....! And his team mates could get into it too by holding their sticks over their heads and swiveling their hips. Ya think?
-
Hey, yeah! Speaking of Cabaret, when he scores, they could quickly slide a chair onto the ice, and...and...he could straddle it!....and show some real good extension with side splits in the air...then bend backwards raising both legs and then do a back flip...and if it'd been in this game the refs coulda called a game delay or with any luck at all he could rent Flip's back spasms at least for the rest of the game. And Tomorrow would indeed belong to us! OK, so that's a stretch....heh heh....

And then there was that little problem with one of the goals where nobody could clear the puck for s***. Three or four times, the Wings shot the puck up the middle of the ice, right to one of the bad guys. Even Lidstrom screwed up. I dunno, has anyone anywhere ever seen good s*** come from doing that three or four times? Not me, that's for damn sure. GREAT GAME. We won. Ozzie played great.
-
Yeah, but if he had done the Fosse Thing they probably woulda called him for high-sticking.
-
And that, kids is what it is in central Texas too. However, could you please pipe some of that water down this way? Thenk yew. Nawww, the hell with it. I'm comin' there. LOVE big bods of wawa.
-
Ozzie saved their asses in the first period. I agree with whoever said at one point that the score should have been 3-0. His positioning so far has been exquisite. ...(Can you use the word "exquisite" when talking about a goalie??!) I AM SO HAPPY FOR HIM!!!!
-
Meanwhile, Kozzie doesn't look all the different, eh? I still miss him.
-
Looks like half the house is Red Wings' fans. Wings started out with great puck possession. PK was juuuust a little bit scary, but OZ is doing GREAT!!!
-
OH yeah. I repeat....if it could only happen to Jackman, Pronger, etc......!
-
Opie, I think he was taking tape off his hands. Even the Sharks' announcers mentioned it. They didn't infer at all that he was backing off. I don't like him. I probably never will, but for once he didn't cheapshot or come after somebody after the whistle. And it was just another example of how fights ultimately don't help the game or a player's ability to stay in said game. He's probably out for at least two weeks? Jeezzzzzzzzzzzzuss, what a bloody mess! Now, if something like that could happen to Jackman, Pronger, Torres, LaPerriere, etc......
-
Does a rat have an ass? Does the pope pee? :deal:
-
Love it. The intermission announcer just said "The Wings are off so the Sharks can pick up two points tonight". Go, Preds! Meanwhile they need to tie Tutu's shoestrings together while they're sewing him up so he can't get any more penalties.
