I got home in time to watch the third period and was thrilled to see the score at that point. And in replays of earlier stuff on the ice I noticed LaPoophead looked busted up a bit and hoped that Downey had gotten to him. No such luck. I still haven't watched the first two periods, but after the game ended I checked out this board. You guys must have been going nuts when the bad guys scored first, and it sounds like it was early in the game. I know I would have been peeling myself off the ceiling. Glad I wasn't there, actually! A lot of you brought this up in your posts....the most promising part of that game - and the one with the Blues too - is the performance of the Wings' whipping boys. If they keep that up, do we dare even think what that might mean for our team's chances??!! As bad as I feel personally for dissing Flip's future with the Wings, I am SO happy for him. And Kopecky. And Drapes! And even Downey because he got a point!! And we're in first place in the whole frickin league!! For today....!

Where does it say we should disregard it? Why can't we just enjoy what he accomplished and hope it happens again? Even if he was inspired by what happened to Hossa, is there any reason why he can't find inspiration elsewhere? And if it doesn't happen again even soon, we can still hope that he gets more confidence in himself and moves on to bigger and better play.
