THANK you. And amen.

The only fingering response I'll do with your post is to let you know I think you're just one more member of the Three-Cornered-Finger-Snap Club. Simple but totally non-constructive answer to what's happening with the Wings. The Red Wings got out-hustled, out-played and generally had their butts handed to them last night. Cheli, Filppula, Kronwall and Draper (as someone so aptly points out later in this thread) ALL sucked. And you're ticked so for whatever ill-begotten reasoning you can come up with, you grasp at an easy answer. In other words, it's your ego talking, not your brain. To say that Ozzie sucks reminds me of SO many Avs' fans and their t-shirts saying "Red Wings Suck" as our guys beat the crap out of them. Over and over and over. What I'd really like to hear from you and others like you is how Babcock, et al, motivates THE WHOLE FRICKING TEAM to start playing up to the level we (should) know they can play.
-
Filppula is proving once again that he is inconsistent and DOES NOT FINISH. Instead of taking a great open shot, he passes the puck to no one and loses the puck for about the 900th time. OR...he's near the goal and fans on a shot. HE IS DRIVING ME ABSOLUTELY BATZ. WHY does Babcock play him so much?? HUH???!!!
-
Filppula absolutely drives me nuts. Witness his game tonight against Dallas. Instead of taking open shots he tries to pass the puck and for the 10 milionth time, loses it. OR...he has a shot near the goal (2nd period) and fans on it. HE DOES NOT FINISH. I would not care if he left Detroit at the end of the game. Gawwd, he is inconsistent AND NOT HELPING!!! :flamingmad:

Yeeeeeahhh.... ."...contracts in EHM..."; "...RAID array..."; ..."Oracle-running Linux box..."........... You lost me right after "opening up team windows". I'm just going to have to take your word for Whatever it is you're doing. If it ain't about Donkey Kong, copy/paste or add/delete, I'll just nod politely and knowingly.

I like it! This is kind of what I was trying to say on another board but you added specifics that seem to make it more realistic. OH, I hope, I hope, I hope.....
-
However. The word seems to be on more than one message board here that Franzen will probably want to test the market. He's not paid enough in Deetroit. He knows it. "They" know it. If he chooses to stay he will probably want bigger bucks than Holland is willing to pay. The ideal (and probably lala land) situation is that Franzen wants to stay and is willing to give something up to do it. Doesn't sound like that's the concensus here.

This is exactly what I'm hoping DID happen. And I agree with those who feel that's why Zets signed the way he did. And DATSYERBURGER....Thank you for all the stellar research. I'm printing the last one out too.
-
I want you to know I've printed it out and I will study it. And THANKS. ...Gotta get over my numbers phobia...
-
That's fine by me. I've felt for some time that Filppula is not a finisher. If he's on the "right" line he seems to get more fired up. But all too consistently, he loses the puck. SO. You got Holland's phone number?

OK, I admit I don't understand the cap for crap, but please somebody tell me if it's realistically possible to keep Hossa. I want him to stay, even though there are times that I don't like seeing Dats and Zets split up. From Hossa's point of view I cannot see him as happy and fulfilled anywhere else as he seems to be in Deetroit. From the fans' point of view it seems academic. HOWEVER. From the players' points of view I'm guessing that if they want to keep Hossa, some stars are gonna have to give up moolah to retain him (IF that's possible under cap rules...?!). What's yer take? Anybody? Anybody?

I haven't been able to read all the responses here, but has anyone said why Crosby's not being punished also? Other than the fact that he may have sent a butt kiss through the mail to the Little Emperor?
-
Or specifically, Pronger...? Jackman...? LaPerriere...?
-
JEEEEEEEEEEEEEZUSSSSSS! I shoulda checked the board earlier. But THANKS!!! Fer sure, later!!
-
Thanks! From a fan waaay daaown in Texas!!
-
Yeah. Me too. It would be really bad if some Wing accidently ran into him and gave him a booboo. Or if a foot with a skate on it happened to trip him up and he went flying. Or He got a wayward elbow in his face. Or he accidently got a puck in his privates. Or he got got slammed into the boards. And just think. All that conditioning going to waste.... :flush: What I would LOVE to see him do is re-discover what conscience he has remaining and finaly, FINALLY publically apologize to Draper.

I would debate whether the "restrictions are placed upon us (Directv)". They set up all the professional sports packages so you HAVE to pay for each one separately. We live in Texas and have Directv, NHL Center Ice, the special dish and receiver you need for HD, PLUS the Fox Sports channels package. Directv ain't kiddin' around when they say you won't get professional sports unless they are on your specific local sports channel. We get Fox Southwest, so we get to watch the Cowboys (...yeehaa...urp...) and the Rangers (oh, heart - keep beating...). The only way we get all hockey games is through the Center Ice Package. To the original questioner - if you get Fox Detroit as your local sports channel, your chances are great to be able to see all Detroit sports. If it's not, lotsa luck. As for the HD thing, I don't know what you'd get unless you have the special equipment.

Thanks, Cicada. Found it. Can't stand the announcers, but it's better than nuthin'. Meanwhile, I'm waiting to hear how Lidstrom's doing...
-
Thanks Jrat. Found it. Can't stand 'em but beggars can't be choosers. Also, Lidstrom just got hit with a puck, so I'm waiting to hear how he is...

I am having the same problem. All I get is the FM version. I bet I've tried 20 links and none of 'em go to the AM station. COULD SOMEONE PLEASE PUT AN ACTUAL LINK TO WXYT-AM RADIO?? I'm not even sure it exists.... :flamingmad:
-
Does anybody know if it'll be on Detroit radio? I checked NHL.com, and they don't list any games yet on radio. If it's a possibility, could you please also tell me which radio station in Deetroit? I don't remember from last year and I'm waaay outta town. Thanks.

Game 4 with Colorado is also on Friday at 12 pm, cst, and Saturday, at 12 am cst.
-
I think that game will be on this Thursday at 6 pm CST. I originally recorded it and then mistakenly deleted it. Thank you, hockey gods!
-
Hope he remembered his little dog Toto, too!

I agree that Thorne is one of the best. Calling ANY kind of live action has to be difficult and with the speed of hockey, almost impossible. Of course he's made mistakes. Who the hell wouldn't under that kind of pressure? But he's still very focused, intense and involved and the resonance in his voice only adds to the drama. I've really never noticed any overt bias on his (or Clement's) part. Doc's OK and I understand he and Eddie had to balance their delivery during the finals but they went overboard in praising the Penguins till it became a whole new and unreal event and had very little to do with what was happening on the ice. Ken and Mickey are also excellent The worst? The Anaheim announcers.
