Yep. This pretty much says it for me. I don't even dislike Hitchcock. I just can't remember a time when I thought their team had any class.

Predators bench Radulov and A. Kostitsyn for Game 3 of WCSF
Vladifan replied to edicius's topic in General
Meanwhile, I hope Radulov has put some money away. As ugly as he is (in every sense of the word), he's gotta be near bankrupt from having to pay women to sleep with him. -
Hey, we used to live there. Not a helluva lot going on, although it's right next door to Phoenix. Probably hasn't changed much since then.

I'm assuming by your original post, since you singled out Holland, you think the onus is on him. I don't. I know this is a running topic in some of these threads and I have some thoughts on all that after reading most of the input. Yes, these guys used to play well, and not all that long ago. Even this year, after the big string of wins they inevitably went back to the same old s***, over and over and OVER. Not getting traffic at the net; passing incessantly in the offensive zone; keeping the puck to the edges and not fighting for the middle of the ice; not moving enough on power plays to open lanes...How is that kind of "teamwork" Holland's fault? I'm saying most of them still HAVE the talent. They haven't all lost it at once. Nobody pushed a button and all of a sudden they all got old and slow. So why do they keep doing the "insanity" thing? Doing the same things over and over and expecting different results? I say that's mainly on Babcock and the assistant coaches who either think they're doing the right things with their boyz, or they do not know how to reach the players to make them see how they're screwing up and how bad they really look. And how to make them a TEAM again. That to me is outrageous - that Babcock can't come up with a way to hold a mirror up to them to make them see how embarrassing their play became. Injuries can't explain most of what happened with the Wings. Yeah, Holland could make changes. But there's no way in hell there can be dramatic changes. There's a whole lot of teams out there with lots of cap space and not that many good players coming up for grabs. Parity is now the name of the game and the Wings are going to be one of many players trying to bring on some players that can really help. I think whether we like it or not, improvement is going to be slow in coming, unless Babcock and his boyz gain a new perspective. And right now I'm just trying to balance my perspective with remembrances of the Good Old Days, when the Detroit Red Wings pretty much had it all. I don't think it's gonna happen again in any team's lifetime for some time to come.

Don't agree. Al these guys used to play with more aggression and smarts, especially using the middle of the ice more. As for passing too damn much, that's indeed been an ongoing problem.
-
Yep. Predicted Nashville and St. Louis would win their series. Rooting full-time for the Coyotes and Kings. Call me schizoid.

I keep wondering - sometimes out loud - if any of tha Wings are watching these four Western teams play. Why the hell couldn't our guys figure it out. That you have to play the puck ALL over the offensive zone, not just the sides. And SHOOT THE DAMN PUCK!!!
-
They shoot the damn puck at the net instead of (like somebody else here said) passing it 23 times. That's how!
-
Happy Birthday, you talented and rightly uppity whippersnapper!! Hope you have a great day and an even better NEXT season!!
-
Helluva game. I still say it's gonna be a good series to watch.
-
Oh swell. Hadn't thought of it that way. Your description reminds me of Minnesota and Whoever a few years back.

STL/LAK: 4-3 PHX/NSH: 4-3 NYR/WSH: 4-3 PHI/NJD: 4-1

I love your re-invention of his quotes. Right on. Yeah, it should be fun and games, but when somebody's being paid as much money as he is for playing, I think he owes the team much less mouth and a helluva lot more action. As in, put up or shut up! :deal:

If that's when Don Cherry comes on it's one of the few times I'm grateful I don't get TNT/CBC - whatever he's on. Meanwhile, nuthin' new with Emrick/Eddie and McGuire. They LOVE the Rangers. The only way I can watch it is muted.

This is typical and sickening. I'd like to have some compassion for these frightened, narrow-minded ignorant idiots who hide behind their anonymity but there's no way in hell. f*** 'em all and the hate train they rode in on.

This is the only sports site I look at sometimes two or three times a day. Most others I just don't bother with at all, and I am quite a sports nut I thank ALL of you for your volunteering, hard work and dedication to this most classy website. You too, Mike for your techno-marvelous/informational/colorful/up-to-the-minute game day threads. LOVE YOU ALL for who you are and what you do!!

I've got to throw a post on here that was on Facebook this morning. Bo Somebody said something like, "Well now Tim has two black men to hate in Washington, D.C." LOVED it. Told him so.

Another aspect of Lids and Whoever giving up some salary for either or both these players is how those guys would react when they heard that news. They'd have to be flattered. They'd have to understand how much our guys would like them to come to the Wings. That has to add to the chances of getting them. Sounds good, anyway!

I'd like it to be Ottawa and the Coyotes. I know. Laugh away. It ain't gonna happen, but I like both of them. Please, just not the Blues (can't stomach Jackman, and yes, hockey fans, that's enough for me). Wouldn't mind the Predators because I'm one of those who thinks their goalie and defense AND offense ain't bad at all and I'd just like to be proven right. I am ecstatic to see both the Penguins and Hawks on their asses, and I would like to see the Caps take the Bruins, even though I know that's off-topic.
-
This pretty much says it for me. I'd much rather the Coyotes take it, but I don't think that's gonna happen. I'll say Preds in 7. And, OH - how I hope I'm wrong. :puke: I'm not sure why so many of you think this is going to be a dull series. I plan on watching as much of it as I can

My check really is in the mail, as of this morning. We'll hope for more wins and more moolah next year. Thanks again, Vladdy16, for being willing to back this!

Anybody know why Kane get the misconduct at the end of the game?

How sweet it is!!

#5 Philadelphia Flyers vs. #4 Pittsburgh Penguins
Vladifan replied to Hockeytown0001's topic in General
One of the NBC guys laid out the reminder that the Wings and Pens are out and the Hawks and Bruins are on the brink. All four Stanley Cup champions from the recent past. I'd say that yeah, there's juuuuuust a little parity happening out there. Now if the Hawks and Bruins can follow through and LOSE, there's at least some sick satisfaction there. -
