Why the hell not? They have been looking better and mostly more organized in this game than they have for way too long. They can and just might win this. There's always hope!!

Once again we're getting screwed outside of Michigan. fricking NBC had Boston College and Whoever on and we're just now getting the game. Never bothered to use their spare station. OH, how Imhate them.

Spouse and I went to the game here in Cedar Park tonight. Griffins looked pretty much like the Wings in their first two periods. Lots of iffy passing and disorganization on the ice. The third period they went nicely crazy. The score was 4-0 at the top of the third and the Griffins scored four goals to even it up. Ehrhardt,, Minard, Conner and Ferraro scored, and they almost pulled it out in OT. It was a fun game Nyquist, Conner, Pare, Brunnstrom, Tatar, and Ferraro all looked great and I hope we get to see them in Deetroit.

I'm thinking (hoping) that Lidstrom can see how much this team needs him so there'll be no question about his coming back next year. He'll be beck. Yeah. We'll go with that.

Cleary has an excuse. Bad knee and the cortisone injections and draining is not helping. Hudler is just a drain. Period. I cannot watch him anymore without bellowing at an inanimate object.

Fine with me if they sit Hudler. He was not only not there, he was a drain. Pretty much the same for Franzen. Mostly floated except for two or three plays. The young'ns looked great, along with Helm, Flip and Zetterberg. Haven't read the board and probably won't have time, but did anyone here bring up Ken's statement about 75% of the games we've played on Saturday against these idjuts were back-to-back games for US? Just wondered.... I'm sure next season Mr. Bettman and the boyz will no doubt correct that.

We're so damn lucky (thanks to great scouting) to have the depth we have in Grand Rapids. And personally, I'm so grateful we get to see the Griffins here.

Agreed. I also forgot to mention in this thread that Conklin was in net. Even though the Stars had four goals, I really think he was only bad on the OT goal. I wore my Konstantinov jersey, but it didn't quite do the trick.

Yeah you will. Conner's back down. Then there's Brunnstrom, Tatar, Ferraro, Pare, etc. It was great fun watching all of them. They came alive in the 3rd (sound familiar?) and scored four goals to tie it. Conklin was in net and did well until the OT. THAT one was on him.

Then we lucked out because we saw him last night here in Texas, playing the Austin Stars. he didn't score but he looked great. Great speed, hustle and commitment.

One of my favorite Wings' moments.

The hittee (?) was also bent over. Kronwall was straight up. It's gonna be interesting to see what Shanny does with it.

What was it? Fourteen minutes without a shot on goal in the first? Now they give up a short-handed goal because they cannot seem to do anything other than pass the puck in the offensive zone. I'd like to take Hudler and put him on the bus. Now. I'd like to take Franzen and stick a firecracker up his butt. But mainly, I'd like them TO SHOOT THE DAMN PUCK. JUST EVERY ******* NOW AND THEN.

Don't like Hudler much anymore. He should be shooting more than passing and floating. Franzen IS lazy. He may have the most goals (?), but the point is, he could do more and play harder. He has the talent for it. I like Bert but he plays with one hand more than two (and just kind of pokes at the puck too often) and doesn't drive down the ice and/or toward the net often enough. As for Cleary, I don't agree with seemingly lots of you. I think for whatever reason he's snake-bit, as Mickey might say. He plays hard, drives the net, screens, hits on the boards and fights for the puck. But his timing just seems way off. It shows the most when he shoots at the net. Methinks if anything, he's trying too hard. Then again, I've always liked him.

We'll be getting this game on NHL network. That's usually OK, because they seem to consistently go with home announcers. PLEASE. HOCKEY GODS. NO Olczyk. I hate wiping vomit off my TV screen. GO, WINGS!! Hit on the Hawks!!!

I can't recall ever hoping I was more wrong about something hockey-related, but I think he's gone. And I still hope I'm totally off the mark there. Whoever said here that it's none of our business was absolutely right. But I was curious about what would make him sign in the first place; and as for his leaving Detroit, I didn't want to think it was his wife's fault for not even being willing to think about moving from the West Coast. He's got to do what he's comfortable with and if he leaves, it'll be for his family. What more can you ask from any individual, hockey player or not? And in my book, he will always remain a class act. The Wings' team is known for class acts, and it's a compliment to say that I think he stands out in that collective group.

Brendan Smith's mom is definitely OK in my book. She tried to get a pic of him when he came out after the game as the third star, and it didn't work, and she said, "s***"! What's really funny is she seems to have this little high voice, and I could just HEAR her say it out loud.

I'm thinking they borrowed OSU's statistician.

Thanks for noticing that AND pointing it out here. I'm also happy Babcock moved Franzen. He's gonna have to show some speed with those guys or he's gonna be eating ice chips. And I predict that the Cleary/Abdelkader/Bertuzzi line is gonna be nice and nasty. Go, Wings!!!
