I will ask again. Don't you think E could have made that much money on the open market? And yeah, the difference between me and a lot of you on here is that I think he has the potential to be a solid defenseman. Especially with a good defensive coach hiring. The no-hope attitude about him on this thread is mind-boggling.

I don't understand some of the response from a lot of you Ericsson and Holland haters here. What do you really know that's not out there for the rest of us hockey fans to read? Do you think Holland should have paid Wisniewski 5.5 mill for 6 years, knowing he still needed a forward and back-up goalie? Do you not believe Holland knew what Wis could possibly get within the expanding cap? Do you believe Ericsson couldn't have earned that much on the open market? WHAT defenseman would logically go after, KNOWING what else you had to work out for your team, and knowing the price would be overblown because of the expanding cap? What have you heard that Holland hasn't heard? What do you know that Holland DOESN'T know? Unless any of you are mind-readers, your rants mean next to nothing.

Who the hell is Mark Spizzirri? But he got one thing right. It looks very much like the best D men are not going to be available, so he didn't have a helluva lot of choice. They didn't even let us know the (live) number of who was up next to pick. Totally mind-numbing and not helpful at all. Just turned it on. I'm really sick of the boos/booers. . They were rampant last night at the NBA draft and again tonight. That woman's husband just died, and the idiots just HAVE to boo Bettman. This could also be part of the conversation Holland and Lidstrom had before he decided to come back. ...That Jagr might want to come to the Wings and it could be that Lids is doing his part in supporting that possible move. Not only for Holland but also for himself and the team.
