I watched the Preds' swarming defense tonight and thought, "We can do that". Hell, we have the speed and the smarts, so why the hell not? The fact that this obviously hasn't dawned on McCrimmon (Or Babcock?) is also not a good thing,among too many other not good things.

The Preds are really swarming and doing a lot of the angle thing (?!), where our guys can't move to pass the puck. But you're right. SOMEbody's gotta be open. As far as the Preds' fists to the heads of our players, yeah - I'd like to see one or two of them taken down. But of course our guys would be called for it.

MacDonald is one of the best players out there tonight. And that includes Lidstrom. Not a good Team night, period. Anybody know what's wrong with Mursak?

This would be the perfect time to poopooh the theory that the Wings play up or down to the level of their opponents. Oh, wait... This time you can go with this theory, Red Wings. The Preds are movin' on up, will probably bring it, and if you don't show, methinks there will be hell to pay.

This statement also lends itself to the theory that the Wings play up to or down to the level of their opponents. I honestly hate the thought, but it's possible.

Re: Hawks/Vancouver. Luongo just got a break with an interference call too. And meanwhile, this is what he looks like with his goalie mask on. Furthermore and meanwhile, even though the Canucks are ahead of us I still hope they beat the Hawks.

I really don't think Howie was that bad tonight. Sure as hell wasn't worse than whoever was supposed to be playing defense at any given moment. Or passing the puck. Or forechecking...or...
