Finally! The game is ON.

The game is not being shown on Directv. Not in Texas anyway. I checked the stupid-ass Pistons' game and they were tied w3 secoonds to go. Damn it!!! Who gives a s*** about the Pistons??!! The least Fox Detroit could do is put it on 664 where the Michigan/Michigan State game WAS. :ranting: :ranting:

Agreed. Because of Ozzie's condition, Howard has to hold it together. It would be way counter-productive to have to bring Ozzie in. And the TEAM has to play well because of Howard AND Ozzie. And the other guys who are out. Aaaack!!

Or the cheapshot Flames. Or how Bettman and/or Campbell suck pucks. Or.... :noevil: There's one bright spot tonight. The Pens are losing 2-0 to the Wild in the 2nd period. Warms me cockles...

Do the Pens have to prove medical disability, as in Crosby's concussion? Does anybody in the league (HAH!) check up on that? Who's to say Crosby isn't faking it so he can rest up a bit? Like, they're playing the Wild tonight? I would not put it past him/them.

Checked again, and Kostopoulos had 801 PIMS in the AHL from '95 to '01-'02. Kinda summarizes the kind of player the Flames go after. Fourth line piece-of-s*** that should be kicked out of the league.

I hope Ozzie's in goal. At this moment he seems more focused than Howard. But whoever's in net I hope our guys do their damndest to keep The Enemy from our crease, both in bodies and pucks. I hope, as tired and beat down as they may be, they not only play up to Vancouver's level, they play with pride for their fallen comrades. I hope our young'ns know deep down that their energy, drive and speed is sorely needed in this game. I hope our boyz win. OH yeah.

Agreed. As I said in an earlier post, consistency and fairness has yet to be the center of the NHL's officials' policy. they absolutely suck at this and they've lost all integrity as far as I'm concerned. Even TSN called it a "blindside hit". HELLO, NHL? HAVE YOU GOT A BEATING HEART, BETTMAN?

Kostopoulos has 628 NHL (does not include AHL) penalty minutes since '05. That includes 19 penalties in two short stints with the Penguins between '01 and'03. I found this on NHL.com. And in the write-up of last night's game, that hit was not mentioned. EDIT: I should have said "19 penalty minutes". Not that it really matters, but somebody's gotta play fair, eh?

Helluva response. It is a game, not life. The guys have to know going in that they can be blind-sided by out-of-control players. As much as I'm outraged by what happened to Stuart, I either can't take it all too seriously, or I hope and pray that those who are supposedly in charge of overall refereeing, do their job consistently and fairly.

OK, I made it to page 18, trying to catch up after the game, and I'm about to fold my tent. However: The third period was a good one for both the team and Howard. He had some GREAT saves, and the team started to remember who the hell they are. One of the best players/passers in the game was Hudler. He was accurate and focused, even after getting knocked down a gazillion times. Two of the worst passers -to the point of damn scary - were Franzen and Bertuzzi. I was screaming at them all night. Then I screamed for happy on Bert's GWG. It was a beauty! Helm, Kronwall, Rafalski and Eaves looked fine, thankyouverymuch. Very much in the game. If it's true that Stuart's jaw is broken, the a-hole that took him down should be suspended Big Time. Then again, it's Bettman, and it's the Wings. So good frickin' luck on that one. Nighty night. :burnout:

Yeah but they WERE. They spent two or three minutes off and on talking about Kesler and the Hotshot Sedin kid. ENOUGH, ahready!

The very worst are the Anaheim Ducks' announcers. The color guy actually whines. Head East, oh hockey fans and it's the Penguins' announcers. They are blatantly biased. Yeah, they talk about the other teams quite a bit but their guys can do NO wrong. And one gets the feeling that only 10 percent of the legit calls are made on their opponents. :nonono:

Concussion.com has ably explained Crosby's malady. Excessive whining, as in "Wah! Wah!!" actually causes cramps in the jawbone and transmits them to the brain, causing swelling. And yes, it's been proven too that the Ego is a major partner in that ballooning process. It has also been rumored that Steckel knew about Crosby's physical weakness and was only trying to loosen up his jaw muscles.
