Honestly, I hope I'm over-reacting. I appreciate the comparisons made between the two conferences. Problem is, I can't always tell if any team that beats our Wings is that much better, or if our guys just weren't up to par...even though sometimes it's pretty obvious when our guys let down. And I want to think they're NOT being intimidated. And with Cleary and Datsyuk out that indeed could make a difference.

This could be an interesting game because of a so-called weaker Eastern conference hot team playing a hot Western conference team. I DO wish all the players were healthy on both sides to see a true matchup. I also think Ozzie should be getting more starts. He played so well in his last outing which tells me the little punk rocker is on a roll right now.

The Crosby one is priceless. As they say in Texas, "Thuank yew seeooo muuuch!" So what else is new?

Yep. And I agree. And I also agree that the Caps goalie should get the first star. I have no idea what happened though, or if they even rate them.

No, I thought it was great. Some stuff I noticed: They had their regular 40 shots of Crosby, but not the one where he slashed an opponent (no call) with the Caps players almost coming off the bench. Eddie even noticed it! The style of play seemed different than most hockey games. Mostly short passes, and lots of dump and chase. Could have been the weather conditions. Thing is, the Caps scored a goal (their 2nd?) when they carried it in. I loved watching Le Fleur dance around his little environs, almost giving up one more goal because of it. I wondered what Crosby did (again) at the end of the game to cause the scrum behind the net. That was right before he did his traditional whinefest to the ref. And I still hope and pray that Crosby didn't get a point. Gotta check the stats...

And I believe that would have been Crosby's goal? Mwwwwuuuuuuhhhhhhaaaaahaaaaa! Eat s*** and choke, punk.

He kinda looked like Stan Laurel of Laurel and Hardy fame. And yes. I know that dates me.

Sure hope the hotel that the Wings are staying in in Dallas has the NHL network. As we speak, Hudler could be watching how good he was in the Winter Classic and maybe even get some muscle memory back.

I would only add to what Beth said that when some of these discussions get to a point where nobody is winning and everyone else is bored with it, maybe you need to take it to PMs? Meanwhile, Happy New Year to ALL.

This ought to be your middle name. "BUT", as in "Yeah, but...". But in your case and in my mind it has more than one meaning. Hey. They got their 10 seconds of fame by being negative nancys. And who knows what twisted motivation they have to come up with to sound so stupid?

I really figured we didn't have much of a chance, what with the altitude thing, back-to-backs, and Rafalski, Cleary and Datsyuk out. I mean, how could they possibly pull off a win? But as I watched Ozzie he looked so calm, so focused. Bodies were flying around the net or landing on him and he just kept his eye on the puck. And for as many games as I've seen him play, it had to be one of his best efforts. He earned that win from every angle. And to those of you who suggest it was a fluke win, or say he should now retire obviously gained your ten seconds of attention by making such stupid statements, but it doesn't change the fact that he is indeed a champion and a fighter and you will never understand (nor will most of us) how much heart that kid has.

Yea, Lids!! OK, so it's a toss-up between Lids and Ozzie for Wings' Iron Man.

Whatever happens in this game - in spite of the fact that most of the team looks like they're trying to come up with new and wondrous ways to practice Chinese fire drills - this game will go down in the Ozzie Annals as one of his best. Through the first two periods he's been the best player on the ice. I am so damn proud of him. GO, SWEET OZZIE!!!!

A long time ago in a galaxy far away, the University of Michigan Lambda Chi Alpha fraternity house used to have the same display in their front yard during homecoming, among other really humorous stuff. It was an ugly old man sitting tailor fashion in a little hovel of a house, with a total scowl on his face. The sign over the "house" said, "People are no damn good". That's you. Except in your case, it's the Detroit Red Wings. As far as I know they don't have that little sad man and his house on their lawn anymore and I don't have to read your s*** ever again.

I guess we can always guess what you're going to say about Ozzie. And OH yeah. They put all their cards on the table and ended up with a 3-on-1. But of course, that's Ozzie's fault too. You have an unbelievable but consistent and predictable mindset.
