That was indeed a class act. That whole incident is one of the most positive to come out of sports in a WAY long time. One of the funniest things I've heard out of all this that someone said on espn this morning that, "Pronger is day-to-day with hurt feelings."

Even though I hate his guts, Pronger has played his butt off in this series and the only ones who look small, stupid and scared are the idiots who decided this was funny and/or representative of his play.

That is SO cool that he made it! We just got back from a trip and I saw snippets of the games and I thought about him. And I thought about how ecstatic I was when the Wings won in '97. There is absolutely no feeling in the world like the one when YOUR team wins it all - especially after a long time. So screw it. I don't love the Flyers that much and I don't hate the Hawks that much, so what the hell. Here's to him and a Cup for his team. When did they pull Leighton and why? Thanks to anybody who responds.

This has gotta be where it's at. Because we're fans we have a tendency to get a wee bit rabid sometimes and yeah, we have either personal experiences or maybe irrational dislikes about not only teams, but their fans too. So what? HOW can we possibly take that as personal insults and go on the attack? HUH? Peace out.

After watching the Montreal/Philly playoffs I don't see how either team could beat the Western champ. I just don't see the finesse, the consistency or the talent. Or am I missing something? I hope I'm wrong because I've decided to root for Montreal.

Either that or Ozzie would get it because he didn't learn the kid right.

With the way this game is series is going, I'm trying to figure out if the Hawks are that iffy (and we could have beaten them?), or if the Flyers are really that potent. Even with my prediction I continue to root for the Flyers. Although if the Hawks win for Electro's dad, that's OK too. From one South Chicagoan to another, ya know?

Meanwhile, I shouldnt'a dissed the Flyers. They're playing a helluva game. Ok, except for those two goals. I'd love to see Pronger take out Buttmuffin or at least knock him into the next game. Don't know why, really. Just appeals to me. Even weirder still is I would like to see Bigbutt on our team. Go figure.

Well, well, well. Shows ya what I know about hockey. I've gotta admit the Flyers are not only holding their own they're playing the Hawks pretty even. I continue to hope I'm wrong and that it becomes a real series. My thing with the Hawks (and I thought you'd never ask) is the one game we went to there was not at all a good experience, even though we won. And their "Red Wings Suck" chant pretty much sucks. I guess that's pretty much it.

I said on the prediction thread that I thought the Hawks would win in four. On the other hand, I'll probably throw a party if I'm wrong.

I don't see any need to compare Stevie's and Lids's contributions to the Wings. They've both been huge positive influences. But Stevie had to know he was taking a huge ego-step back when Scotty asked him to play a more defensive game. He knew his rep would take a hit. But even at a young age (?), he did it for the good of the team. How could he have known that ultimately, he'd be considered even more of a hockey god within the Wings' organization? He's obviously a guy who is willing to test himself, to take chances. Holland's not going anywhere for awhile (and I appreciated Ilitch's candor about all that), and Stevie's ready to move on. I want to think that ultimately he'll be back as GM of the Wings.

Just noticed on espn that Montreal is 5-0 when facing elimination. This time, I want to believe them.

Yeupp. Anybody else hear the boos early on in the game last night from the Hawks' fans when their beloved team wasn't playing so well? Didn't take much to throw 'em off. Their team is up 3-0 on their opponents. Just not good enough I guess. Too many of their fans have no heart or loyalty. Reminds me a little of some of our "fans" on this board. I'm STILL rooting for Montreal. Allons, enfants!!

Good points. A lot will depend on goalies and injuries too. I understand this statement may be considered a treasonable offense, but I also wonder if the Wings could beat the Hawks right now. OF COURSE I want to think they could. Gawd. If only...

What the hey?! I'm very happy for him and more power to him.

If it goes the way it looks like right now (Flyers and Hawks), I will not be watching the finals for the first time since Whenever. And oh gawd, I hope I'm wrong. I'll be happy for Electrophile/Beth's dad if the Hawks make it, but I won't be watching. Bah. Humbug. Ratz. Curses.
