Damn. That just breaks my heart. Meanwhile, he can take that sign he stood by and see if it fits, sideways and rotating.

So I get this email from the Wings saying they have a new smoking policy happening. Like, if I could get to the games, I'd probably take up smoking again if that's what it took. Hmmmm. I wonder what smoked shark tastes like?

Yeeeeyaaaaeeahhh! Tennessee Ernie Ford. Where IS that man when we need a little testosterone around these hyar parts? Huh? Ah mean, HUH?!
-
Obese opportunity on that one. The NHL probably owes their soul to the Company Store (Versus) and cannot possibly be balanced and fair to their...um...fans.
-
CONGRATS! They should win 'cause of the new kidlet. NO doubt about it!
-
Oh, Toofy, Toofy...Whatever happens in this game tonight, I can only hope that maybe by your next life, you will be able to realistically think about how you would have reacted had your boyz been officiated the same way.
-
Then we can assume you won't be watching and commenting?
-
Also, for the Center Icers, the Wings' feed will be on Directv, Channels 771. Hopefully, our bankruptcy situation will be worth it.

He may shoot well but he still has a face like a chipmunk. Or maybe a squirrel. He should have enough money now to fix those teeth, I'm thinking...?

Here's a Freep article about the game. I LIKE it. And yes, it's biased, but factual. http://freep.com/article/20100503/SPORTS05/5030420/1051/SPORTS03

You got a horse picked out? Hopefully, it's an old one anyways and not anybody's prized nag.
-
If we can work it out I get to have first dibs on who we take in the room with us to take him out talk to him.
-
Thanks, titanium. And if Vladdy had still been playing?
-
THANKS for posting the scores, HHDT. Looking at them - especially the second one, it was indeed quite a comeback. However... Titanium's right. That was one of the best teams ever assembled in hockey. And it's probably too late to construct a sin bin for s***ty refs? I'll take it up with Bettman. We'll see what develops.

Now you're just becoming a smartass and cannot be taken seriously on any level. Why are you still here? I'm thinking you might want to go in on team sweatshirts with Rat as far as the Smart Ass thing? Just suggesting...
-
Didn't Vancouver take the first two games?
-
How succinctly put. How glib. All that's missing is the three-cornered finger snap. But your simplistic solution/suggestion is not and cannot be the whole answer. Twenty minutes of penalty kill, MOST OF IT NOT EARNED, can kinda slow down and/or intimidate a team. That's only logical. Sure they played badly at times. But for anyone to totally dismiss the refs' effect on their play, well, it cannot and should not taken seriously. Backatchya, Rat.
-
...Ummm...I think NOT. :puke:
-
Just saw this, Rat, because I left the board after I realized I was losing it. Whether you can admit it or not, the Wings had an inordinate, unsustainable-by-anybody-in-their-right-minds number of bad calls, while the Sharks had trips, hits in the head, and interference penalties that were not called. And they dove to keep them coming. Anybody other than a Sharks' fan would agree. The extent and proof of the refs' idiocy was obvious with the also-horrific makeup calls against Marleau for boarding and Heatley for goalie interference. The saddest and most maddening part of all of that is we'll never know what would/could have happened if the refs hadn't taken over that game. Yeupp, the Wings played badly at times but I will ask even our own fans here who've criticized their play - can you tell me without question that none of that was the result of the accumulation of the refs' calls? Just once. Just once during this series, I'd like to see a Wings' game where it is NOT about the ******* refs. Who's Paul Woods? Thanks. And if anybody has read/heard reports from sports-types about this game could you put 'em on here? (That is if you haven't already) Thanks. I'm wondering if Versus had the balls to really talk about it. I didn't even save the game, let alone listen afterwards.
-
This kind of statement drives me nuts. HOW were they going to play "desperate" once all the calls started coming? They started out playing hard and the refs took over the game. We will never know what the outcome of that game would be if it was fairly reffed.
-
The reffing in this game borders either on abject stupidity or criminal negligence. Or both. I have watched hockey for 12 years and this is the worst-reffed game I've ever witnessed. Non-calls on the Sharks for head-hitting, for interference, for goalie interference, for hooking, and for DIVING. Calls made on Abdelkader, Bertuzzi and others that were absolutely not penalties. Five-on-threes handed to the Sharks. OH? They score? Wow. Go figure. And the Wings begin not to take chances because they figure they'll be called. Again. And their fans stand there and applaud as if they've earned where they are in this game. It is a travesty. I do not nor will I ever care again what happens to the Sharks and their fans. And whoa and wow. They've had two bad calls all night. One on Marleau and the goalie interference call that just happened on Heatley. Choke on it, Sharks' fans. Meanwhile, who do I go to to complain or question? There is nowhere. Nobody who will listen. No one really gives a s***. The NHL/and/or Bettman are obviously infallible. And they obviously don't care how bad they look after a game like this or how it affects their audience numbers. There is no recourse, there will be no consequences or action taken against this farce. I sent an email to NHL.com, but that will go nowhere.

Only way to go with the VS a-holes is muted.
-
WHAT replay? The only one I've seen is the one on Dats and it looked legit. But he should have hit him SO much harder.
-
Both goals on Nabokov looked a wee bit shaky. I like that. And even though we're not winning a whole lot of faceoffs now we're screening Nabby more. That's always a good thing. Cleary looks good. Even Ericcson had two good shots on net. It ain't all bad.
