I wouldn't put it past me from mis-interpreting what I heard about the fighting/needing new fans. I was moving from room to room at the time. But I'm pretty sure I was correct on the Don Cherry reference and that something needed to be done about 'these types' of hits.

It's an omen, I know it is. I just saw Bernie the Bird on my screen saver slide show. We will win.

PTI also took it on today and said the NHL is doing jack about that kind of hit. Didn't see the hit so I'm only reporting what they said. They also said that Don Cherry and others appreciate this kind of play and that most hockey fans who consistently watch also go for it. But they added if the NHL wants to gain audience they're gonna have to take care of that kind of crap.

But it's true and you're right. I've had the same reaction the last few games. This is NOT the time to bring Ericsson back. But it's great news about Big Bert. I don't understand what we would be keeping an eye on. How is it our business? What do we know about the background/history of anything that might (OR might not) be going on? Of course he has an ego. You obviously have excellent taste,not only because you chose the Wings, but because you're a Saints' fan. If it weren't for our love of the Broncos (for a loong time), the Saints would be way up there on our list. Drew Brees is from our area and he was a cool kid then; and an even nicer man and a talented QB. Welcome.

This is the thing. Or at least one of the things. NObody is going to want to play Deetroit if and when we get in the playoffs and I hope for really good reasons. Yeah, I passed real fast through the recording of the Canucks game but the Wings have been on more than they've been off since the end of the Olympics. They've got more of a focused, aggressive but relaxed style and it's great to watch. I don't know if I've said it very well but they just look more at ease out there. Like they know they belong.

I didn't "dig through" anything. I didn't get on this board until after the game. I responded to posts as I read them AFTER THE GAME. I even gave kudos to some posters on here as I read along, but you seem to have missed those. For future reference? I'm not online during play. It's either after periods, or after the game.

He did this a whole lot during the Olympics. Bothered me a lot more then than it did in this game.

This is probably true but I do SO enjoy reading about how none of the top teams really want to play us if it comes to that. Keeps my spirits up.

I think this happened after Crosby got pushed down (barely) and acted and looked like someone had stabbed him. Of course he got the call. And there he is, picking himself up off the ice with obviously his very last breath, while Lundquist skates up to him (it happened behind his goal) and probably says something very much like, "Quit your stupid-ass diving, Crosby". And yeah I made that up but the whole hockey world knows it had to be something like that. So Crosby pushes Lundquist in total outrage, and then it seemed to escalate from there. And yes, you had to be there to see the anguished look on Crosby's face as he lay twitching on the ice.

We'll be going to the Penguins' and Blues' games on the 22nd and 24th and I can hardly wait! Don't know how to post pics but I'm hoping to find somebody around here that can show me how. I sort of said some stuff on the opening thread, but it surely bears repeating here that I am one nutcase Wings' fan that didn't realize how much I missed this verbal volleyball till it went byebye. THANK YOU, MATT and whoever else helped you! But I missed seeing any frickin' black cat. Ratz!

I couldn't watch the Canucks' game live and did a fast forward, to check it out. I deleted it before it was even over, somewhere after the fourth goal. Tonight's game was like night and day compared to that one. The Wings were swarming to the puck and around their opponents and played much more aggressively. Rafalski did not have a good night but most everyone else played great or at least OK. Some HUGE games coming up. (As if they aren't all from this point on...)
