I'm not EVERY fan on here. And I'm not asking for blood. Just a little REAL pain. Instead of his overacting-type "WAH!" crap which he pulls way too often when he gets nudged out there. It's a wonder he doesn't have whiplash from his head flails alone. -

Wow. Moe, Curly and Shep (?) at it right there on the ice. SO sorry to see Pronger and Perry go down. WE SCORE! WE SCORE!! And Rafalski's part of it again. And Brodeur pretty much brought it on hisself. HEART, KEEP BEATING!!!!!!!!!! -

And don't we looove the way Brodeur insists upon waltzing around his net, handling the puck. He almost gave it away twice in the first period. More! More!! -

Since I wait till the end of periods to get on here, I don't know if anyone mentions this later, but the puck looked like it hit Crosby's blade going in. MYUUUEEEEEEEEEEEHAAAAAAAAAHAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA! -

Because of course, on CNBC, they must show curling. With all the speed of that game, you gotta be able to see those rocks and the numbers on those guys/girls shirts. Lawzy, yes. I HATE NBC. They're not only arrogant a-holes, they're stupid sloths. -

OH. MY. GAWD. I swear no matter what happens in this game - no matter what happens with Rafalski with the Detroit Red Wings, I will never EVER say another iffy word about him. He is having a helluva'n Olympics and I'm very proud of him.  -
2010 Winter Olympics - Russia vs Czech Republic (Group B)

Funny you should mention that. I watched most of the game and found myself wondering who #28 was, and why he kept screwing up. BAD passing and not good positonally. He got a little better later but jeeze... -
I'm hoping this is Canada's problem too, and that they don't figure it out till they're flying home. I hope for quicker solutions for the Russkies.

2010 Winter Olympics - Belarus vs Sweden (Group C)

It would also be tres helpful if their coach put 'em together more. As in, like, WHY is the "Sharks" line having the positive effect it's having? Maybe because they even breathe in sync? HELLLEUUUOOOO? -

I haven't been able to catch a whole lot of it, but I could swear more than once late in the 2nd, I saw Franzen, Zetts and Forsberg out there together. And everytime I check out Forsberg he seems to be mildly or majorly screwing up. !! Third period's up! buhbye! -
2010 Winter Olympics - United States vs Norway (Group A)
Vladifan replied to redwings8831's topic in General
Wow. I saw the name "Tollefson" on one of the Norwegian jerseys. Then spouse said THEY just said one of the Norway players was a Wing. COULD IT BE....?! I'm not sure of his number yet, but I'm definitely gonna start watching for him during the second period. -
Since I'm rooting for the USA women, I hope they get their hopes right into orbit. I can't believe that won't be a helluva game. And then of course, the USA team will bring them crashing back down to reality.
-
Just tuned in and about two minutes after I turned it on, Canada scores. Scary bidness. And yeah, they be chippy! LOVE it. I think the USA/Canada game is gonna be beyond doozy-type. I can hardly wait! Geeze. Another goal for le Canada!
-
Maybe it's the Russian goalie who looks like she might be 14. Maybe it's the hustle and focus of the USA women. For whatever reasons, team is lookin' REAL good right now. Also just saw a shot of Babcock and Stevie in the walkway. Also lookin' good! GO, USA women. EDIT: 9-0, with five PP goals.

Thanks, sweetpea. The feeling is mutual, I'm sure. The other thing not mentioned about these women is that many of them have kids, husbands and families. And they STILL excel. And strive to be better. That goes for Chinese, Finnish, Norwegian, etc., women too. While we're at it, let's hear it for the HUSBANDS who do their bit so the women can compete. As far as the Checking Thing, it's coming. I can remember when some women basketball players (guards?!) couldn't cross the half-court line. Myohmy, how things have changed. And not a damn minute too soon!

First off, I want to apologize for my last sentence in my post. It came off as condescending and uppity and I didn't mean it that way. Sorry 'bout that. I don't think women should have the chance to play every sport either. At least at the top levels. But if there are enough women who are talented enough to field at least two teams, that's where it should start. If you eliminate women's hockey, what do you think has to/should happen before it gets reinstated? There won't be any parity until other countries feel inclined to field teams. And they won't field teams until there's a need for it. And there won't be a need for it if they're not competing at an upper level where the world is watching. I see no other way for it to be reinstated if they drop it. I'm thinking we won't be changing each other's minds but it was nice visiting with you again.
