You know that thread on here about why 'you're' a Red Wing fan? That's when I fell back in love with the Wings. When Bowman put them together. I did not believe my eyes. Sure the brute force in hockey is a wondrous thing, BUT DID YOU EVER?? And will we ever see such power, line talent and grace again? I think not. But you're right about their evolving. The Wings' leadership is just too stable and strong for them not to. Just don't know what form it will take. And did they call to ask my opinion? HELL no.

God, yes. Ah, the wild and crezzy days of the Grind Line. They were right up there with the best lines in the business with their grit and intensity; just like the Russian Five were the best at finessing opponents out of their...jerseys.

I think he ended up having a pretty good game, actually.
-
I know he probably won't be a Wing much longer but I still love watching him shake things up on the ice. When he and Draper (and Holmstrom) leave, it's gonna feel like Stevie's moving on all over again.
-
We be seein' that on espn probably tonight. Helluva save. Especially since he was probably wondering if his head was in that helmet rolling away from hisself.
-
Still love your choice of clips/pics/whatever.

NOOOO!!! Not Malts!!
-
Crap. I was thinking PP. Well damn it, it's still gonna be interesting.
-
Agreed. Could be interesting competition-wise when the rest of the guys come back.
-
The BEST of both worlds!! Yeeehaaaaa!

Am I the only one who thinks Lebda's looked better in the last few games? Probably.
-
Looks like this is gonna be a game on both sides made up of the walking/skating wounded. Now I know crutches give one balance, but the first team able to mentally toss 'em aside WILL win this game.

Honestly, I do read your stuff but you take their losses way too personally. I get the sense that you feel they're really out to offend you when they don't play up to your sense of how they should be doing. You leave them no leeway, and you don't seem to see any hope for them as a team this year. I feel bad for you. And I wonder why you're there at this point in the season. On the other hand, Broken 16's post - which is not available to me right now because I'm techno-impaired - is one of many good posts on these boards that try to give some perspective about the Detroit Red Wings and at least partly why they're where they are right now. I don't see anyone here mostly excusing them for their play. On the other hand, anybody who writes them off already - at this point in the season...well, like I said, I feel bad for you. Call it what you want, but if there's no perspective, there's no hope and no faith in what they still might accomplish.

We did that once in Dallas. And yes, how well I remember that it does indeed suck to lose like that in every sense of the word. I feel bad for ya 'cause we've been there.
-
Tell you the truth, I loved using the alliteration part too.

Sure glad you're here. Thanks.

Hell, I thought Ricky Gervais was playing. Ratz....Might have helped our cause if he had been. ...Naw....
-
Thanks, Jedi. But I don't agree about this specific poster. His commentary is persistant and obsessive about one player. But since this is still a democracy (republic? whatever!...), I'll abide by your decision. But thank god for the ignore feature. :-)

Brilliant repartee, huh, guys? But of course this is a serious suggestion and nowhere near baiting. Yeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeaaahhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh.
-
You're also an obsessed, attention-grabbing, name-calling, inch-deep fan of the Detroit Red Wings. At this point in the proceedings and at this point in this thread, you have the credibility of a kumquat.

Umm...#8, I believe....?
-
Wow. Check the skies. More depth and perspective on the real problems that this TEAM faces. Along with their coaches.
-
I would add that Babcock doesn't look all that good in this mess either. I believe he's screwed things up with how he's used his goalies. And specifically tonight, he obviously came up with no plan to shake up the troops, either with their passing, defending their goalie or with figuring out how to deal with the Islander's forechecking. Not good.

Um, MODS? If this verbal sewage isn't baiting/trolling, what the hell is?
