    OK fine. But then I'm throwing in the fact that Howie had to be floored by that call, like most of the rest of the civilized nation. They're human. That includes Jimmy Howard. I say that the ref's collective, bulls*** calls and non-calls had a definite bearing on this game, including the mind-boggling penalty shot call. Sure he could have stopped it, but first he has to get over the call.

    Good point about our young defense. I don't agree about Cleary. And Franzen's name should come in there big time.

    I don't agree with this. I think ref's calls and non-calls can get in a team's head and throw off their rhythm and screw up their game. And yeah, I know they're supposed to be pros AND THEY ARE. But some of those calls/non-calls were horrific. They get to a point where they don't know what's gonna happen next on the ice. And they had moments when they played very well.

    That's very good to hear. I may not even watch Wednesday's game. I think the refs will be a major part of that outcome and I do not trust them as far as I could kick them. I emailed the NHL ref's association and told them as much. Sickening.

    You know what? That was the worst call tonight and that's going some. Howard has stood on his head for this team throughout the playoffs. I'm sick to death of these simplistic knee-jerk responses from some posters here. GET.REAL.

    Totally agree. If anything, they were trying too hard. Looked like in about the last 5 minutes they started getting their timing and rhythm. We shall see.

    Has anyone seen Wannabe-Hockey-Player-Mayer on the ice during the games? I thought not. It's his only chance to even swing a stick. A-hole, personified. I furthermore hope the Wings really REALLY take that to heart. And get pissed. And take revenge on Those Winners Who Seem to Manage to Mostly be Losers; Or Who Mostly Succeed at Snatching Defeat from the Jaws of Victory. (Say that ten times fast!)
