I had to record the game and watch it later, so I had to make the choice bewteen Wings announcers in standard def, or the ducks guys in HD. I figured it couldn't be that bad, so I chose the HD ducks feed. I chose....unwisely. I didn't mind the homerism that much, you have to expect it. It was the mispronouncing of Hudler and Kopecky's names that really bugged me. Your professionals, do your home work. Also can't stand it when announcers get their facts wrong. They said the wings have been to overtime twice this season, both going to shoot outs. Apparently they forgot about the OT loss to Vancouver. Hard to blame them I guess. I wanted to forget that game to. Although I thoroughly enjoyed Selanne crying after about the waived off goal. What a little girl.

Actually, hope is coming for Dish offering locals. I've been screwed for a long time with Dish and not getting locals in HD. that changed about 2 weeks ago. they came out and added a second dish to my roof, (not thrilled about that, but whatever). Now I get locals in HD and it's awesome. Really hard to watch it in standard def now. HD is a beautiful thing.

Someone asked for this, so I'd thought I'd give it a shot. I also borrowed the scope logo that someone created because it was awesome and fit really well.

I thought I was the only fan having to do this. Sadly, I'll have to do this for Game 1, 2, and 4. I've put my stars fan friend on notice, there will be no texting of scores or any news about the game until I contact him after I watch it. It's funny, my wife and I get home from work, I go watch the game on the DVR, she looks it up on the net since she can't stand not knowing. Fortunately, we'll get to see game 3 live and in person. yeah, I'm a wings fan in TX. My wife and I go see the wings when they come to Dallas. We were there for the 1-0 loss in February. We both had our jerseys on, and after the game, a stars fan came up to me to ask if we were ok, or needed any help dealing with the loss. I calmy explained, we'll just go back home and remind ourselves that the wings still owned a double digit lead over the rest of the NHL. The sober stars fans are pretty cool before/after. It's just realling annoying when they yell STARS! everytime the word stars is sung during the national anthem.
