I hope Z is good to go tonight. If not, this will be a huge test for our secondary forwards. Either way I'm excited to see how things turn out. I'm still waiting for Flip to breakout and play like he did at the end of last season, hope that happens tonight. If Z is out, we'll definitely need it... GO WINGS!

It's nice when ANYBODY on the Wings gets props, especially from Clement. I think this is well deserved for Homer. Glad people around the country are starting to notice his hard work. I also like the "The playmaking of Datsyuk and Zetterberg. Holmstrom is being fed on the PP by two of the top 5 set-up men in the NHL" line. I've thought the same from the beginning... but it's nice to hear someone else say it, especially a professional analyst.

Let's get another win on this road trip. I expect Downey to be spectacular YET AGAIN (...) and suddenly make us into a cup contender like so many people on these boards think he will... (To clarify, I'm not a Downey hater, but I do think people over-exaggerate his effect on this team JUST a little...) But to be serious, I hope Zetterberg keeps up his pace and retains the lead in the scoring race. AND FILPPULA NEEDS A FREAKING POINT! GO WINGS!

How are the playoffs done? If they're set-up the same is right now, then this heavily favors teams in the Western Conference. Much easier to be in the top 8 of 15 teams then in the top 8 of 18 teams. Were you planning on disregarding conferences when it comes to playoff seeding? i.e. Taking the top 16 teams regardless of conference?

Totally agreed. It seems that every word out of the analysts mouths are a "How to Beat the Red Wings" or "Why the Ducks Should Win Tonight". Same with the announcers. If the Wings score it's "How can the Ducks respond?" if the Ducks score it's "How can the Ducks put the Wings away?"

At 7:00, when FSN (if it were showing the Wings game) would have been airing a Wings pre-game show... Versus decides to air a show entitled "Holy @#%*!" (in the Detroit area at least). The show was a copy of a bunch of other "Oh my god did he just do that!?" clip shows that have been popping up in the last 5 years or so. My question: why do they decide to air a show like this instead of a pre-game... or at the very LEAST a hockey-related show? In a recent interview, which someone here linked to less than a week ago, Bettman DEFENDED Versus. He said that no other network would provide as complete of a "hockey package" than Versus. He claimed that they show a bunch of hockey and NHL related programming before and after games... I just find this utterly ridiculous. Is there some kind of rule that says they aren't allowed to have a pre-game? I mean... every other sport and every other network has SOME sort of pre-game show before the games... FOX NFL Sunday, Baseball Tonight, even Hockey Night in Canada... why can't Versus do the same?

Kiprusoff is more important to his team, no question. But Giguere really scares me this series. He's a solid goaltender and when he gets hot... he gets HOT. He played very well last night, and as someone mentioned the 2 goals the wings scored were pretty fluky and not his fault at all. If he only gives up fluky goals this series, we're in deep trouble... because we're not gonna get 2/game like we did last night.

Welp, I'm man enough to admit when I'm wrong (see above). Lang was fairly solid tonight, and obviously had a HUGE goal with only seconds remaining in the game. I'm glad Babs didn't listen to me (surprised?) and kept him in the lineup tonight. He just needs to play like this EVERY game... Good job tonight Bobby. (also: off-topic... Lang gets a lot of credit for that goal, and its deserved. But props to Flip too. A rookie out there for the last shift of the game when we need a tying goal, and he delivers with great effort on the play getting the puck to Lang for the goal. )

No Red Wing nominations for the Selke is bull imo. Granted I don't watch the 3 nominees night-in and night-out but I still think at least one of Zetterberg, Datsyuk, and Draper deserves to be nominated.

Exactly. A lot of people on here are disappointed in the play of Sammy, and during the reg. season Lilja, etc. but at least they work hard. It just seems to me like Lang doesn't, and that's really irritating. When Homer comes back, I say scratch Lang... keep guys in the lineup that are playing like they want to be there.

Lets Go Wings! We need to take both of these home games or we're in trouble, and it'll be extra tough with Homer out of the lineup. I'm hoping for a big game from Franzen... again! Good luck boys!
