If you had the choice between either Aaron Downey or Brent Sopel, which would you choose? This is probably a little premature but just based off what you've seen or heard so far which do you think is better? Personally Downey seems like the better option. I think our defense is fine, especially with all the young prospects we got in GR. Downey is gritty (shown by his goal against the Wild), will defend our star players, and will check and all that... I think we should let our young guys have a chance instead of signing Soap... he does give the puck up alot too, its almost like having Lang on defense!

Alot people are saying that we shouldn't have Downey cuz he can't score... But has he really been on any teams with any kind of offensive skill? Dallas just has Modano, Montreal has Samsonov and Kovalev... which isn't saying much... but if he were on the Wings roster he could probably score a little more. I'm not saying he's gunna get 40 goals... maybe just 6 or 7. I don't know, what do you guys think?

I'm pretty sure he'll be an UFA this summer and was wondering what everyone's thoughts were on him becoming a Wing. He's decent offensively and can fight... I think he would be a great addition.

This year, I was exactly glad the Wings lost (far from it), but I was alot calmer than in years past because I was proud the Wings actually got as far as they did... now I hope they have a good offseason as far as FA signings go
