Wings Penguins Devils I am prayin' for the Sharks!

Sharks TV Color Analyst Drew Remenda posted these comments today: http://boards.sjsharks.com/index.php?autom...p;blogid=1& Portion of his blog: You know what puzzles me? All this “whoa you don’t want to play St. Louis (or Calgary or Anaheim or insert whatever team) in the first round†talk. What about… You don’t want to play the First place since the start of the year, 53 wins and counting NHL Leading San Jose friggin Sharks. I hope there are teams out there that are thinking yeah we really want to play them. We really want to play a team that has a Superstar centre that can dominate games. A Captain having a career year. A puck moving cool as ice smooth skating D-Man. 4 defenceman with 30+ assists. A goalie that is one of the best in the game a team that has the best second line in hockey-a kick ass powerplay and a stingy penalty kill. Doesn’t that sound like fun? I’d just like the “experts†to recognize the Sharks are like Joe Thornton said†the best team in hockeyâ€. I agree with his thoughts. It strikes me odd that Wings fans are nervous about a possible match-up with the Ducks. Thoughts on Remenda's comments...

I agree. I've been a Sharks fan since day #1. I do agree with his opinions, I feel the same way. This team has had a great season. But to get up on the stage and preach to the masses these thoughts just put an even BIGGER target on our backs!

4/8 GDT: Columbus Blue Jackets @ Chicago Blackhawks

I don't much feel sorry for these guys who play cards and watch movies on private jets who then get carted off the tarmacs to 5-Star hotels to sleep on down feather pillows! BTW: where is that thread that follows the Wings jet? As mentioned, playing the Ducks is not half of it. It's dealing with the punks on that team that take unnecessary liberties that could wreck your team. -
Great attitude! On any given night they can beat your Wings. BUT...beat you 4 out 7 not a chance!
-
I appreciate this post. You are damn straight the Wings can still take this even down 3-1 if that were to happen. While some are looking for bridges or cliffs, you are "sacking-up" for your team.

Hasek was amazing. Nabokov was good. Lang was strong. Rivet was weak. Lidstrom was a star. Clowe and Grier have demontrated the Sharks depth. Thornton was nasty. Cheechoo is FINALLY playing better. IF your Wings cannot break the Sharks forecheck, you're going to be disappointed with the outcome of this series. Tonight Bertuzzi was a train wreck. A player you need to settle down. The Wings had us against the ropes the first 25. Dominating hockey. If they put that play together for 60...they'd be sick! Nobody would beat them...nobody.
-
Slow down...you are NOT playing the Flames! Too funny! Your team is whiped-out from yesterday. Took 'em EVERYTHING they had to beat SJ on HOME ICE! SJ will "bring-it" the next two games at home and the fan support is not collegiate like it is in Calgary, but it's pretty dang loud!

SI.com's Allan Muir - Wings deserved to win game 2
azshark replied to SouthernWingsFan's topic in General
Here's the deal... The Sharks got exactly what they came for in Detroit, a WIN! Detroit exhausted themselves all over the place to beat SJ yesterday...ON HOME ICE! Yesterday the Sharks came up short. Hasek made some tremendous saves early and throughout the game. After two games into this series, I present my first prediction: Sharks in 6. Perhaps 5. Definitely not 7. -
Wondering if there is a sports radio station in Detroit that spends quality time covering the Wings? Would like to listen-in via the internet.
-
Thanks! It is a busy time in sports in Detroit: Pistons, Wings, Tigers, Lions Draft... Last round, I listened to the Preds radio affiliate during the day, "The Zone" and they spent more time talking about Vanderbilt baseball. Awful!
-
While I appreciate the toughness of playing with broken parts, I wonder how effective Calder can be? He's a great talent and I wish him a healthy recovery. SJ is deep and they'll absolutley try to exploit Calder's damages. Injuries test team depth.

What's the point of posting, "WOW"? Why do you expect the Packers to win? Because they've won before. Problem is, is that they won with great players. The Red Wings are NOT the same team they once were...right? That's what Guerin was implying. It's the truth.
-
Wow what? If you play for the Oakland A's and you are coming to play the Tigers. Would you not sit and go over a scouting report on the pitcher's tendencies and skills? Would you not also look for ways to beat him? If you didn't, you'd be crazy! Billy Guerin is simply implyig that he might know ways to beat Detroit, but Detroit already knows what he's thinking. Good teams scout themselves to find their own weaknesses. Guerin respects the Wings. We all do!
-
Guerin's words were honest. He simply stated that the Wings understand their weaknesses. He's impying that it's pretty obvious that Detroit knows what SJ will find on video. Hey, Bay Area fans have the 49ers. Winners of 5 Super Bowl rings. We understand that the team still has the same color scheme in their uniforms and the same fan base over the years...BUT there are different players behind those numbers and we expect NOTHING special from the new guys come playoff time. He respects the Wings.

Why don't you just state it, "DETROIT RED WINGS, 2007 STANLEY CUP CHAMPIONS!" There...! Now the curse is on.

Thanks! I've been trying to explain this all day. We Sharks fans are NOT looking ahead. Just understand that we've been through 8 games with the (Mighty ) Ducks and they are ******* great. It's NOT about beating you, it's about avoiding them. P.S. Whatever happened to the Detroit Express?
-
I think most SJ fans have a crush on the Ducks. The bottom line is simple. There is no disrespect, just fans wishing to not play Anaheim. Honest!
