Whoever SJ plays it will be rough...BUT trust me, Sharks fans do NOT unerestimate the Wings.

This series was about the top two lines neutralizing each other. The third and fourth lines for SJ demonstrated their skills better. Guys like Rissmiller, Grier, Brown, Clowe, Pavelski, Goc (faceoff stud) were the difference. Grier and Nabokov are my co-MVP's from the series. SJ is deeper than ever and they are pretty healthy coming out of this first round. Until last night, I'd say that other than Milan Michalek, the top two lines for both teams fell asleep this series. We don't have brawlers. We have BIG/FAST dudes that can ******* play hockey! Oh, we also have a goalie (Nabby) that's possessed to play for his coach who passed away last week (Warren Strelow). To advance to the Conference Finals, SJ will have to do better on the powerplay. It was AWFUL!

******* awesome taking down Boris and his group of punks! Is it Detroit next for us? Who the heck cares! Celebrating a first round series win tonight. NOT taking round two for granted. One thing...Ron Wilson, in his postgame LIVE interview was asked about the prospects of round two and he instantly stated that he felt they'd be facing Detroit. If so, it would make for one awesome series.

Sharks fan here... The way SJ is playing is surprising. They are getting efforts from guys like Mike Grier, Joe Pavelski and Ryan Clowe. The top line has really just seen goal production from Michalek. Of course, Nabby is awesome. I keep thinking that Thornton, Cheechoo, Marleau and Guerin are going to ignite any day and that has NOT happened yet. If these four guys don't catch-up to the efforts of Grier's, the Sharks won't go as deep as I'd hope. No overlooking the Predators. This series is not over for SJ... The second round is going to be brutal!

Getting to the 2nd Round is not a given. It's natural to look ahead and try to sort this thing out. As a Sharks fan, I would welcome a series with Detroit. I don't base that on regular season stats. I look at the overall depth of both teams and I think San Jose would match-up nicely. BUT...Nashville is good and nothing accomplished yet.
