Glad you mentioned the submarine...I was about to ask what kind of whacky room of your home that is. The FBI is likley thinking the same...

As it has been said before, at this time of the year, everyone is playing with some sort of an injury or another...it is just not advertised. Great job, Red Wings! I wonder what Flip would have done without a knee injury...wow.

Getting to actually go to my first playoff game ever (Dallas against San Jose, Game 3 of the Western Semis @ AAC) and then seeing my Red Wings for the first time in the playoffs (Dallas, WCF Game 3 @ AAC). It was pleasant seeing them spank Dallas in front of a hostile crowd though I was by myself and somewhat weary of my walk back to the car. It was nice to see several red and white jerseys around me though.

From the bits and pieces that were coming through, Ozzie hung on to Hossa for a bit during the handshake saying something along the lines of "Man, you gave me a scare there, that was real close" (it's in quotes but it's not a quote). Let's see when it's up on YouTube. I thought it was pretty funny...

Thanks, Matt, you do a heck of a job with this site.

The NHL shop is officially run by douchebags...ordered two items last night, 2 hours later got a notice they are backordered, though on the site they say in stock. Well, this morning they still say the items are in stock. I wouldn't mind so much if that hadn't happened before when I ordred something that was shown in stock just to get a notice later that it is backordered. I think someone has their grandfather manually updating in stock messages on their website...

It got close to 1,000 at some point, dipping off. I am tired myself...darn work. If we count anonymous users I think we got past 1,500 at some point but I doubt we do.

I would hope so. If not, I am sure several teams would be interested in him, he seems to be a very promising player.

It's summer, dude! Who would want a hoodie right now. Okay, I am in TX but still...

...for "Behind Enemy Lines in CO", hoping that his surgery went well, and while he didn't watch the game, I sure the hell hope someone will tell him soon that the Wings did it and boy was it a heart stopper. Good thing he didn't watch. Get well soon.

Good question...and $30 for the damn hat...what is up with that. It's a nice looking hat though...
-
Second that...Crosby did play well though, but surely not as well as the commentators might have wanted you to think.

Needless to stay quite a lot of them stayed for the trophy presentations in the arena. Why some booed the Stanley Cup though as it was brought on the ice was a bit odd though, but hey, it was the minority. Most stuck around and just watched rather than booing. I thought that was classy.

He did dominate the bench this playoff season...hey, it's a joke! He won us two important games in the playoffs. However, he had a mediocre season at best, for his standards. I would be surprised to see him stay.
-
Oh my...that's crazy. Is he trying to make it on a line with his son sooner or later. We'll see how things are developing in the offseason, but hey, it's always good to see players wanting to stay...

So....where the hell is everyone??? WOOOHOOOO!!!!

Did anyone see that Onion article when the Western and Eastern Finals ran? One of the lines was that this years contenders for the cup are the "Detroit Red Wings, Philadelphia Flyers, Pittsburg Flyers, and a team from Dallas, TX." It was hilarious.

I can't really get myself to believe that swinging a dead octopus over your head before a game is any more mature -- be it history or not. In any way, I don't see anything wrong with Fleury shooting some water towards Al, it's not like he hit him in the crotch with his stick like Balfour would likley do. If anything, it seems to show that Al swinging that octopus really gets to the other team.

While I agree that defensively Lebda has done little, partly because he just isn't that great of a defender and he's undersized, I felt he has done very well moving the puck through the neutral zone starting offensive plays. In fact, I feel he has done far better with this than Stuart, who in the past 2 games has made horrible decisions skating the puck out of the zone or passing it. I kind of find the pairing of Lebda and either Chelios or Lilja a somewhat okay one, because Lebda does bring speed and ability to carry the puck out of the zone to the table while Cheli and Lilja at least provide some defensive capabilities -- Lilja mainly because he has a big body, he has little defensive skill as far as I am concerned.

Agreed and in regards to the pens board sounding off...keep in mind that there are idiots everywhere. I am sure even after the Ozzies 2 shutouts in the first 2 games someone here sounded off on him on SOMETHING. Probably because his hair looks funny. As for the Wings always running into young goaltenders that seem to be incredible...I think part of that is the fact that Detroit generates a lot of offense, more than most other teams. Hence, if you are a good goalie, you can really shine and you know you will be outshot most surely every night. It makes for a great stage for a goaltender to prove himself. It either turns into a blowout or another great goalie may have a few crowning moments.

We are one win away from the Cup, our team has dominated for most of the series and we HAVE won one game in their building, a feat that few teams had done in the past. Let's go back to Pittsburg and wrap this up. There is no reason to sit here pointing blame and lookin for answers from a game that HAS BEEN PLAYED AND IS OVER WITH! We played well and had many a chances to win. Pittsburg toughed it out and won, give them all the credit they deserve. Now let's go back to Pittsburg and win the Cup, baby! Wear your Red Wings gear with pride and cheer on the red and white any chance you can! It doesn't happen often that you get this close to winning the Cup. Enjoy it! Let's Go Wings!!!

I suppose, as the underdog at this stage, the Pens would be a bit less nervous because still nobody expect them to win this anymore. So yeah, in a way, I could say Detroit is getting a bit nervous but I'd still rather be in our shoes than yours. I mean, all the credit to the Pens for winning last night but overall, most of your star players have flat our sucked this series, Fleury, Hossa, and Crosby excluded and in that order.
