i really don't think you can pin this on one or two individuals - but it would be so much better if you could. the worrying thing is that the preds have not really managed to sustain any pressure for any extended periods of time, yet any time they have gotten some momentum and come hard at the wings, we have fallen apart and conceded successive goals. i still fully expect the wings to win this series but you can guarantee that the flames, sharks, stars or ducks will be relentless and apply far more pressure on the wings D and we will need to improve dramatically to withstand it.

i think turco's ability to handle the puck is a big factor. the ducks really struggled to forecheck effectively tonight as turco kept clearing their dump-ins. he really takes a lot of pressure of the stars d-men. another key to beating anaheim is to take advantage of the numerous power plays you will get and dallas does just that. the ducks won't be as bad as that again but they are still going to find it very difficult to win this series if the stars can keep up the same level of performance as last night.

not too bad so far but really should have had more than the 1 goal. we have to fire more shots at ellis in the 2nd - he has been giving up some big rebounds.

true but the ducks are a much better team now than they were at the start of the year - the stars won the first 3 matches before neidermayer and selanne returned. i can see the games being close as the ducks just don't score that many goals but over a 7 game series i think they will wear the stars down. the most likely upsets IMO are the avs over the wild, the flyers over the caps and the rangers over the devils. though i am not sure you could really classify the latter 2 as "upsets".

it is a big night for the caps again tonight even though they are not playing as 3 of the 5 teams they can overtake are all in action. with the wings playing too it should make for another exciting night of hockey!

i don't think it would be particularly nice if the #8 seed won
