i felt worse after the loss to the ducks in '07. i think the reason this is easier to accept is that in '07 the wings played great and were damn unlucky not to win. this time they played pretty flat throughout the whole series and thoroughly deserved to lose. and as for babcock's comments - they certainly looked fatigued but should they have been? the pens played just as many games as the wings leading up to the final.

aside from game 5 the pens were definitely the better team and there is no doubt whatsoever that they deserved to win the cup and if it hadn't been for ozzie it would not have even gone to 7. if you had told me before the series that crosby would be a non-factor and osgood would outplay fleury then i would have said it would be impossible for the pens to win. but the pens did just that and the main reason for that IMO is that their D outplayed ours - something else that i would never have thought possible. they must have the most under-rated D corps in the league with letang and scuderi being particularly impressive. so congrats to the pens and their fans - you thoroughly deserve it so enjoy it

this is certainly not over yet. if the wings can just get 1 then the pens will start to get nervous. the wings need to come out to start the 3rd the way they did in game 5 last year. even though they ended up losing that game, it was probably the best period of hockey i have seen from the wings in recent years. LETS GO RED WINGS!!!

no they didn't. they coasted through the regular season and they have coasted through the playoffs too. talent will only get you so far - the team that wants it more is winning right now

they have played a great series and if they win tonight then they will be fully deserving champions. with the exception of game 5, they have been the better team in this series IMO and the wings have ozzie to thank that this has even gone to 7 games.
