nope the pens are getting it to a game 7 because they clearly want it more than the wings. they have been 1st to virtually every loose puck all game long

the pens seem to want it more the refs seem to have put their whistles away which i wouldn't mind so much if they hadn't called 2 early penalties on the wings - one being very soft.

i think his knee is bothering him. he played great in games 4 and 5 against the hawks but got checked and hurt his knee towards the end of regulation in game 5 and he has not been the same since - his acceleration is just not there

he has been doing it all playoffs long - he has been a long way down from the standard he set last year. fortunately, his defence partner stuart has played the best hockey of his life.

very happy to get out of that period tied. the pens threw everything at us and played a really good, aggressive period yet we hung in there and for all their pressure they didn't have that many clear scoring chances. the dats line has looked real good so far and helm is having another great game. not seen anything from franzen, flip and hossa yet though

of course there was a probability he would sign with the pens but it was not a certainty and shero knew that: "I got an answer from Hossa. He's going to July 1......But as I told him, once you go down this route for both sides there's risk involved. I think it's important for him to know that he's our first priority as a UFA but if it doesn't work out for both of us, it's not meant to be and we'll be ready to move on." so to say that hossa strung you along and left you scrambling to sign free agents is inaccurate - shero knew he was going to test free agency and might sign elsewhere and said that he would "be ready to move on" if that happened. however, i do understand why pens fans are mad - he turned down their offer and joined the team that had just beaten them, stating that he felt he had a better chance of winning in detroit. i would have been pissed off if the roles were reversed too. i seem to remember a lot of wings fans being angry when bertuzzi and shneider joined anaheim after they beat us in 2007 - and neither of them was anywhere near as good as hossa.

Hi Everyone!! I am off to vegas tomorrow and will be there for the 1st 4 games of the finals so was wondering if anyone can suggest the best bars to watch the games in? i figure it will be easy to find the games on but wanted to go to places where shouting and jumping around like a loon won't be frowned upon!! thanks for the advice everybody will probably check out the ESPN zone for game 1 - should land about 2 and a half hours before puck drop tomorrow so i just hope there are no delays

definitely the canes. the main reason being their awful PP as the wings achilles heel has been their PK and if a team is going to beat them they need to take advantage of this. the canes would not have been able to like the pens will. also, if the canes had somehow managed to squeek past the pens then they would have been even more exhausted and been a pushover. failing that it would have been nice to see the bruins make it to the ECF and watch them and the pens beat each other up over 7 games. but i have to say that a matchup against a confident, healthy, fresh and hungry pens team is about the last thing i wanted - especially if lids is not back.

QFT after the wings beat the ducks i was not worried about any other team left but now with lids and dats hurt and also the strain the last 2 series have put on the team, especially the D, i am not as confident as i was. especially when you add in the fact that the pens are pretty healthy and just had a very comfortable series against the canes and so should be pretty fresh for the back-to-back at the weekend. i think this series is a coin-toss atm but if lids does not return very soon then then the edge goes to the pens IMO.

cheers buddy your hawks have an unbelievably talented group who will be better for this experience.
