the wings got away with a lot in the 3rd - they stopped skating and should have been shorthanded several times.

ozzie deserves all the credit for that win - the hawks were the better team but ozzie kept us in it and gave us a chance to win. the wings have looked sloppy and sluggish in the 1st two games but are up 2-0 if/when they start playing then watch out chicago!!!

not really. the wings started that game slowly but finished very strongly and completely dominated the ducks in the 3rd. tonight the wings had a decent 2nd period but aside from that they have been outplayed and have only osgood to thank that they are even getting to OT.

is franzen hurt? he has been anonymous tonight. and aside from his breakaway goal, cleary has been very quiet too. now with those 2 struggling the lack of output from hossa and datsyuk becomes a major problem. imagine how big a boost it would be to pav if he could get the OT winner here

i agree. the hawks have really amped up their physical play tonight and they laid 5 or 6 big hits in a row towards the end of the period, culminating in the hit on rafalski that separated him from his stick and led to the scoring chance and lidstrom's penalty. the wings need to start forechecking more aggressively and push back.

this is a wings board mate and a lot of us hate the penguins - crosby especially - so there is bound to be some bias against them. personally, neither crosby nor the pens bother me too much and the reason they are in the ECF is because they deserve to be. they deserved to win last night too but it will be a tough series against carolina - though it will be easier if ruutu and cole are out for any length of time. but i am hoping it goes to 7 games and you beat the crap out of each other!!

no doubt - the hawks cannot keep turning the puck over like they have or it will be a very short series. however, the wings have turned the puck over a hell of a lot too which is a definite concern.

wow the wings' finishing in this game has been brutal. khabibulin is playing well but he should not have even had a chance to save some of these - our shooting has been awful

wouldn't disagree with that. i think the only thing that might have stopped the ducks is possible fatigue after 2 very hard fought series and then coming up against a young and fast hawks team. but as i have said before - the ducks are the best team the wings will face IMO. i just hope this series did not take too much out of them.

i agree that the bruins would have been a tougher matchup for the pens but as already mentioned they would also have been a tougher matchup for the wings too. also, the canes are a better team than the caps IMO and the pens struggled to beat them so i would not be at all surprised to see carolina in the SCF.

home ice is ours!! an original 6 SCF would have been sweet but i will settle for an original 6 conference final and beating the pens again

the sharks beat the flames in 7 last year too IIRC. i think the stat was that the road team has won 6 of the last 7 game 7 OT games
