I think Iginla is one of the best forwards in the league. Top 10 for sure. If the Wings roster wasn't so stacked, I'd love to have him on our roster.

So my exposure to hockey may be somewhat limited compared to some, but what the hell? I've never heard of a goalie as a captain before. I thought Ohlund or Mitchell would get the 'C' for sure. So now nobody will wear it?? Bizarre.

So the Denver Oktoberfest is pretty cool. Been going on for 39 years! Had me some Paulaner Hefeweizen and Paulener Oktoberfers or something. Good stuff. Even better in a giant, 1 Liter glass stein! And thanks, SWF, now I am craving Red Stripe. Haven't had that in at least four years! And I love the lil jug bottles.

Condsidering the state of the Michigan economy AND the lovely financial clusterf*#% going on nationally.... I'd be surprised/impressed if the OP's statement holds true...... But a recession won't stop the Wings from winning a buttload of games!! Although I do wonder if the salary cap might end up shrinking a lil......

Ya know what makes me happy? For some teams the above would be just about as talented as they can hope for this year.... and that's only half the Wings roster.... It's great being a Wings fan

Some very good points. Especially since the championship winning team is nearly identical. (replaced the 'win it for Drake' with 'win it for Hossa'. Does the "don't fix if it isn't broken" come into play? Or do you need to be dynamic and change with the times. Or does the leaderhsip/chemistry in the locker room count for more than youth, speed and energy? Yeah, I have NO answers. haha.

OK, so I've been mr inconsistent with exercise. My start in this thread was 216, which at 6'1" was waaay too much for where I want to be. I'm currently at 202 which mainly due to better diet. But this week I once again re-committed to LGW Fit Club. Cut out soda and fast food completely and gym 5 times a week (mix of cardio and weight training). So my goal is to be in decent shape by my bday in late October. Very do-able goal. Keep it up everybody. And be prepared to fight the laziness when the snow starts to fall!!!!

Now I realize Cheli is Mr. Conditioning and all... but at least to me, it seems like he's speaking as if he's in his mid 20's, not mid 40's! Some day he might play in Chicago? To me it'd seem like it's now or never... as far as playing... but they do call him a freak I guess...
