    FA Signings

Not exactly signings, but the Oilers are busy so far with those trades!

    LGW Fit Club

I've gotta be honest, ice cream and beer sounds like a lot more fun than running on the track!!! Sprained quad or not. haha.

Very impressive! Sugar pretty much is the devil I think. Good job. I've been super busy with packing/moving/cleaning/unpacking that I've totally slacked on the gym. damn it. haha.

I was thinking the same thing ever since they were up 3-0 on the Stars. I must update. That jersey I have is blank too, thinking of making it a Zetterberg jersey....

    Bertuzzi placed on waivers.

I pretty much agree with all that I suppose. I'm sure some other team will pay him more than he's worth and this convo will be a moot point. Every time I watched him play, it seemed like he was on the verge of being kind of close to his old self again (which I think could be an upgrade over Sammy... maybe)... but maybe that's never going to happen.

    Wings interested in Ray Emery

I have kind of the same reaction. I think he certainly does have some athletic ability and potential to be a #1 goalie again. BUT, could backfire too. Good thing I have complete confidence in Holland.

    Bertuzzi placed on waivers.

If he clears waivers and is bought out and signs a one year deal for waaaay less than 4 Mil, I'd take him too.

barry melrose new coach of tampa bay

Now Englblom's mullet stands alone on national broadcasts of hockey in the US. I didn't follow Melrose's first run as a head coach, but I do wonder if he really is an improvement over Tortella... Maybe get more fans at first?

    McGuire's Monsters

Agreed. I'm just saying he is no Scottie Bowman. But Zarley Zalapski is a pretty badass name! I actually remember him. I just prefer Bob McKenzie as an analyst.

    McGuire's Monsters

Pierre McGuire has always annoyed me. While he does seem knowledgeable, I do take everything he says with a really big grain of salt. I mean his whole 1 year of NHL coaching experience landed him a losing record of 23-37-7. Not exactly HOF numbers, haha. He's entitled to his opinion, and I'm entitled to mock it

    LGW Fit Club

I think we are just about in the same boat. I'm 6'1" 208'ish and my goal is also 195. I'm back today too! Back to the gym. Let's do this!

    SC Finals Format

    Oh hell no! Ditto!!

    SC Finals Format

The very thought of changing the NHL to be more like baseball or basketball makes me wanna puke. I like the playoffs they way they are and can't think of one thing I'd change (other than more consistent refs).

    Filppula RFA offersheet/Draft Pick Compensation

Well, a lot of lower tier or younger players are signed with agents where they have no say in where they sign, just go out to the highest bidder (thus making the agent AND player the max money possible). For instance, Matt Cullen, when he 'signed' with the Rangers after Carolina won The Cup, he found out about the agreement (between NYR and his agent) when he was on his boat and described it as "I just found out i was traded". Just an FYI since I didn't know it worked like that for a lot of the players til I met some 'inside' type people.

What It Means to Be a Red Wing

It's a quality book. Kinda weird that Mr. Hockey himself wasn't one of the Red Wings in the book, but other than that, some cool stuff for sure.

    Penguins Offer Hossa Extension

I guess it depends on what SPECULATION you are reading because TSN thinks Malkin will re-sign and not for a HUGE amount. REPORT: MALKIN EXPECTS TO SIGN EXTENSION WITH PENGUINS I guess we just get to speculate more about the speculation until July 1.

    Penguins Offer Hossa Extension

I'm in total agreement with this post. When the Pens traded for Hossa on deadline day, I always assumed it was a 'one shot deal' for The Cup and that he'd sign elsewhere come the off-season. If nothing else, I thought the SCF's proved the cliche Defense Wins Championships.

    Playoff Injuries

haha, I broke my pinky toe in the Dallas series. I think it was Game 5. Never watch playoff hockey barefoot.. lesson learned. I too wonder what was wrong with Franzen. But man was it great finally seeing Zetterberg healthy for the playoffs.

    Red Wings Nation: Celebration Photos

Great idea. I'll make sure to bring my camera to the 'Detroit' bar in Denver tonight and take some pics with LGW's and Wings fans. I like it! Let's hope we have reason to celebrate tonight!!!

SCF Game 5 GDT: Penguins 4, Red Wings 3 (3OT)

I just realized that I get to watch the game two hours earlier (in my day) than you Eastern Time Zone people that have to wait til 8. I only have to wait til 6 MT For some reason that makes my wait a little bit more manageable.
