I'd be happy if the Wings added him as a UFA this summer... if he didn't cost too much. I think he'd be a great player to have in the playoffs. Like creasemonkey said, if he doesn't work out, trade him.

I guess it was about time, he wasn't getting any younger. Too bad though, all the dudes I watched growing up are pretty much retired now. Getting old is weird, haha.

What I have found curious since all the trade rumours started, is why people think Sammy and Hudler are such great trade bait. If we find them so expendible, what makes them so attractive to other teams? Anyway, the true deadline winners and losers will become clearer as time passes. I have a hunch that the Penguins will come up losers when they don't win the cup and Hossa signs elsewhere this summer. I wish we got Prospal or somebody like that, but glad we didn't mortgage our future for a rental. So glad! It looks like Stuart might end up being a rental, but he was kinda cheap and did we ever need help on D. I give the Wings a B -

I'm still fairly confident with this roster headed into the playoffs. I'll definitely take the move Holland made over mortgaging the future for a rental like Pittsburgh did. Sure I'm disappointed that we didn't get some scoring help, but there is a reason this team has done so well when healthy. And I don't get why a lot of people think Hudler was such great trade bait, if barely anybody on this site wants to keep him, why would some other team want him? IF the Wings are healthy we have a great shot.

I'm really hoping this is the 'calm before the storm', but with all the busts that were the high priced rental's and their collective lackluster performance last year, I don't blame GM's for being hesitant to cough up picks/prospects for a rentals this season. Mmmmmaybe the pendulum is swinging the other way.... or maybe we just have to wait a lil longer for some ACTION!!!

Excellent. I might be taking tomorrow off too. In a somewhat related topic, I just added this Trade Deadline Widget on my facebook account (don't use yahoo). So we'll see if it works. I hate all this waiting, let's see some deals already! Oh, and I like the idea of Fedentenko and Prospal. But the injury depleted D scares me too. I just hope Holland finds that middle ground between doing nothing and selling away our future for rentals.
