I'm glad to hear I'm not the only one sick of the media over-hyping Crosby. Yeah he's an amazing talent. But they take it overboard. There are a lot of marketable players in the league, I wish they'd spend a little more time showing that the NHL has more to offer than Sid.

I agree with that. Good for floppy, glad to see he had a good game. But I think benching the hottest goalie in the league based on one strong start... kinda sucks. I suppose I'll reserve my judgement til after Hasek's next start to see if he has earned more playing time (Ozzie absolutely has proven he deserves 50/50 split at the VERY least).

I'm bothered by this move too.. But for me, I admit, 90% of it bothering me is because it means the Ducks will be better. I'm still bitter and I hate the Ducks.

Yeah, that had me pretty annoyed. It reminded me of any hockey conversation I've had in AZ or CO where the person knew extremely little about the sport. "So that Gretzky was good right?" Well, at least the show had hockey on, and without making fun of it.

While I agree that he was one of the better goalies last year, comparing him to Roy or Brodeur doesn't work for me simply because Hasek is getting old. Roy is also 42, but he's been retired since '03 and Brodeur is only 35. I'll compare a 42yr old Hasek to Roy and Brodeur at 42 (retired and 7 years younger). There is a good chance that Hasek has in fact started to slip as he gets older. Or maybe it's a slump, too early to tell IMO, but I don't know what we are expecting from this old man, he surprised me last year, but lightning doesn't often strike twice....

I may be in the minority on this one, but I'd prefer it if Olympic Hockey went back to amatuer status. Don't get me wrong, it was cool seeing Stevie Y and company win gold (even though I was rooting for USA) but I surprisingly miss watching college kids (US) playing their butts off instead of babies like Tkachuk whine about stuff.

Ah yes, those 3 games made all the difference.

That's an intruiging argument. But I still think if he hits the UFA market some team will be guaranteed to overpay for him.
