You guys summed it up. Totally weak of Perry to not only refuse to remove his helmet/visor when Drake motioned about it and started removing his. Then to go after Drake as he was removing his visorless helmet was even weaker. I get the impression Drake is the type to hold a grudge. I look forward to the next time the Ducks play the Wings.

I feel bad for poor Doaner. For the most part, the only quality player on the team. And loyal too, just signed a contract extension. If they trade him away, me and a lot of fans would be fed up with the Coyotes. Although I think he'd absolutely flourish with the Wings.

TheBadOne- thanks for the local run down. I lived in Phoenix up until 2004, so I've been a Coyotes fan as well as a Wings fan since they changed from the Jets. I really hope they improve from the season they had last year, but I really wonder how that's possible. Maybe a healthy Jovo will help. But poor Doan, he really doesn't have much of a supporting cast. I would be shocked if they were anything but at the bottom of the league again. Especially with Gretzky behind the bench. Of course he doesn't have much to work with.

That's the ticket. Love seeing my avatar in action! Go rent Breakin (one of the worst 80's movies ever). So hopefully this suspension means Pronger will get handed a an actual punishment the next time he tries to kill somebody with an elbow (and you know Pronger will).

I voted "no effect" simply because I the amount of hockey I watch probably wouldn't change since I love the game so much. Like the example of Olympic hockey. I can watch and enjoy that just like I can college hockey which also doesn't tend to have fighting as often (from the games i've watched). But fighing is part of the NHL, part of what makes the sport so awesome. It's engrained in the history of the league/sport and IMO has a cemented place in the game. If they banned it I would be so super pissed that maybe it would decrease my interest in the sport until they reversed the ban.

Good work man! Keep it up! As for me progress seems steady. And the gym is not only a habit now, but I don't dread going anymore. 216.0 - 8/15/07 206.5 - 9/10/07 204.5 - 9/26/07 203.5 - 9/31/07

I think a healthy Bertuzzi is exactly what the Wings need. But $4 mil for that "IF" he stays healthy probably was too much of a gamble. I guess we'll see. I'm glad Holland didn't overypay this offseason but at the same time I hope he doesn't end up just overpaying at the trade deadline instead.

It's very clear to me that I live in the wrong state.

Me too, he was the only guy I could think of old enough to be somebody's childhood idol and still playing when that kid was retiring too. haha.

What skepticism of Grigorenko stems from: 1. What does his poor conditioning say about his attitude/work ethic 2. Is his poor training camp/preseason due to being out of shape, attitude or is he simply never going to be the player he was before that car wreck? I'd like to see him prove his worth down in GR. But does he have to clear waivers for that. That waiver stuff always confuses me.

Yeah man! Yeah!

That I can live with.

I'm all for keeping Grigs stateside to develop his skills in the North American hockey environment. My beef is the part stating he'd be on the opening night roster. I take that as dressed for the opening night game. It doesn't sound to me like he earned a spot there just yet. I hope he does earn it though.
-
I like the sound of that..... but.. I don't know about this part. Now I haven't watched him skate but I've read he was anything but impressive enough to merit a roster spot. Or has he slowly been improving?
-
Awesome, good luck Offsides. That alone should help out tremendously.
-
Haha. You really do seem to like that stuff. It's been working for you? Do you feel all "cracked" out?

So it's been a slow start for me getting into the habit of going to the gym daily and eating well. I finally bought groceries last week, eating better, cutting out soda, QDoba, etc. So hopefully the weight will come off a lil faster in the next few weeks. 216.0 - 8/15/07 206.5 - 9/10/07- hovered there for a while 204.5 - 9/26/07 At 6'1" my "target" is 195 lbs or whatever I weigh in at by dropping the mid section chunk and building a lil more muscle. Sounds like a lot of ya'll are doing well. Keep it up! Exercising and eating better has me feeling way healthier/more energetic already. Good stuff!

NHL Network 'very close' to launching in America.

That's what I'm talking bout! Go rent the movie Breakin'. Terrible 80's movie. Might even be Van Damme's first movie (as an extra). -

I'm not getting my hopes up until the rumor comes from a different source.... (not Eklund) -
Brilliant! Could finally end the debate. That was just a matter of time. I wonder if anybody picks him up..... but doesn't he have a big ole contract?

Should Sergei Fedorov's number be retired in the future?

I like the way you think. Who do you think has the worst management.. 1. Boston 2. NYI 3. Phoenix 4. other? I threw Phoenix in because I've followed that Franchise since the move from Winnepeg and they have made some boneheaded trades & signings and remained bad for over a decade. (example Briere and a 2nd for Gratton and a 3rd). I still think the Islanders are the biggest morons.

Nice pics. You should go to games more often and take many more.

I'm actually jealous. I took a semester off from school 5 YEARS ago! I stil have two years to go for a degree. In a strange way I miss tests. My brain has gotten very lazy.

Those sound like some pretty terrible reviews- by the people whose opinons matter- the players. It sounds like they will need to change the jerseys at some point. Hockey players sweat so much it's ridiculous.
