I feel great shame in being a Wings fan living in Denver and not attending tonight's game. Let's kick off the stretch run with a solid win! And some new ammo to fight damn Avs fans with.

I need some of his good fortune then! After all, he's gotten lucky 42 times this year in the NHL already!

LOL, this made me think of the Gold Medal ceremony following the game Sunday. As a fan, I wanted to watch ALL the players of both teams receive their medals, watch everybody's reactions during the anthem, etc. However, it was INSANE how much the camera was on Sidney vs the rest of TEAM CANADA that just won the (team sport) game. I was actually consciously trying to ignore Crosby during the coverage to the point where I was watching Rick Nash's shoulder that was imposing on Sid's shot or looking away from the tv completely instead of seeing a closeup of Sid for the 30th time in 20 seconds.

This sums it up for me too. No way I'm going to argue his ability and passion for the game, he's displayed both consistently throughout his career. But it takes more than traits like those to garner my repsect for somebody being paid millions to play a game. I realize he is only what? 22 years old right now? So maybe the humility and maturity that Holland displayed above will take a few more years to develop in Crosby. As far as the diving and whining, I think a lot of that has already tapered off since his rookie campaign he completed as teenager entering the league with the most attention and hype in years... In short, I respect his ability, but to put him in the same category as say Yzerman or Sakic, not by a long shot. At least not yet.

I'll be watching this game. Sure it may not be quite the same as watching NHLers play, but it is going to be a very good game. And I knew a woman training for 2010 US women's hockey team back in 07 and her regimen even back then was insane, women's ice hockey is definitely a sport, just not one you find appealing.

I have Comcast and the USA v Canada game was the first on that started on time for me...no HD either.. Using the NBC stream, I believe it was the USA Switzerland game that they actually skipped the entire 2nd period... so maybe some of the issues are regional?

I wanted to see Doan on the team.. but that's just because I'm a big Shane Doan fan.

Are you serious?? It was bad enough that the Czech/Russia game was an hour delayed (at least for my timezone), but if they do the same s*** for that big of a game... f*** you NBC

Which game? USA v Canada starts at 7:45 EST and will air at some point on MSNBC (your guess is as good as mine if they air it on time or delayed).

Normally I'd wholeheartedly agree with that statement, but we are talking RIVALRY SUNDAY here and NBC be jackin with my beautiful hockey day.

THey coulda been airing an exclusive interview with some alien in Area 51 and I'd still be pissed they delayed the game an hour. Props to biathlon dudes, but I want my hockey and I'm not alone!

I think the games have been pretty dang good, so I guess not. I also DO NOT miss the trapezoid... that is gonna spoil me a bit.

Have I mentioned how much NBC sucks?? Game is listed as 3pm EST puck drop, aired on NBC.. Well, 40 minutes later and all I've seen is ******* biathlon? LIARS!!!!

Strange. My co-worker got it up and running yesterday and literally every 3-5 minutes (I do mean every 3-5 minutes) after a whistle they'd cut to a blank screen saying "stay tuned" then roll off three NyQuil commercials in a row. Three 30 second clips of ugly fat people snoring. While that is annoying, it was them ignoring the 2nd period completely and the hour delay of the "live stream" that spelled out NBC sucks the big one so far with hockey coverage (at least in Denver, CO).

I've been trying to do that myself. It seems just about every reliable hockey/sports streaming site I know of is offline or not showing the Olympics. The nbc online stream requires a handful of things to even qualify for the stream, then if you do qualify you get bombarded with NyQuil commercials every two minutes. If it's not commericals then they are randomly skipping parts of the game (like the entired period 2 of USA vs Switzerland). Good news though, you can watch allll the damn curling you want...

I hate them both equally. They both (especially Getz) come off as arrogant d-bags. However, I would love having either one on our team. Funny how that works.

Ok, I'll admit, that pic reminds me of why Crosby can be so annoying. BUT, I've also seen Franzen and Ozzie, for instance, both flop just as bad to try and get a call. I HATE HATE HATE diving, but Crosby isn't alone in doing it unfortunately. On a side note- I really wish they'd review actual dives and hand out fines and even suspensions. I played soccer for 16 years but I can't watch the sport cuz of all the diving makes me want to puke. Anyway, while that pic stirs up a lil anger in me, pics like below qualify more for fan "hatred" in my eyes. Sure Crosby is a diver, but he doesn't threaten to end careers like one gnarly concussion could from Pronger.
