I could see how it would be scary for Aebischer. Not the easiest/most enjoyable place to play goalie.

If there was ever a time I wanted Eklund to be right, it is now.

1. It's a Red Wings message board with Red Wings bias (#1 & #4 on that list). 2. Gretzky was a figure skater in disguise as a hockey player with awesome offensive abilities.

I think it's impossible for me to be objective about Yzerman. So I'll just say he's in the top 10 and leave it at that. Plus I don't know enough about previous eras and their players to make a fair all-time list. And I wasn't in either Yzerman's or Messier's locker room so I couldn't tell ya who the better captain was. Although Mess had a rep of being an in your face yelling ******* captian vs Yzerman just stepping up and taking care of bidness. Yeah, I can't be objective there either.... haha.

While that pic is terrifying what truly scares me is that somebody in Denver was willing to pay money for uh... a good time with that lovely Avalanche Representative. If you guys ever visit Denver, don't venture too far east on Colfax Ave..... YIKES!

I agree. The only way he plays jas a Wing- as I see it at least- is if A. we have to fight through a grip of injuries B. We need added toughness for a specific game or something. He doesn't do much beyond try to hit people and get out of position (unless he has improved from 2002-04)

I hope you are right. Although Cleary was decent in Phoenix while Ference sucked as a Coyote. I'd be surprised if he was brought up from GR unless the Wings end up in dire need of help at the blue line.

1. Bannish the instigator rule. 2. Fix the schedule. The forced divisional rivalry isn't working. Play every team at least once. And yes, I agree focus on the Original 6 matchups. 3. No more expansion teams. 4. The next team that moves goes to Hamilton NOT KC or Vegas. 5. Bettman gets hired as the commish for the MLB. Let him ruin a sport I already disklike. We replace him with a HOCKEY mind who also knows bidness. 6. Strong arm the owners of Chicago and Boston out of ownership. They are terrible. 7. Even though their "coverage" of hockey currently sucks, get the NHL back on ESPN. Oh how I miss NHL2nite. 8. Pronger tests positive for steroids, gets a lifetime NHL ban and his name removed from the Cup. That to me would be a good start.

My theory with the Coyotes is they saw the Penguins blow for a few consecutive years and then ****** up some good draft picks. I can't imagine any other reason to do just about nothing to improve a pathetic roster. It's pretty depressing, being a Coyotes fan as well.

With how much players have been signing for I am glad Holland didn't get caught up in it too. Besides, realistically we couldn't afford to do a helluva lot more than the Rafalski deal anyway without handcuffing ourselves for the future. On paper looking at our top two lines I do admit it feels incomplete. Part of that stems from being used to having a Stacked, Pre-Cap roster and those days are gone. But I do like the idea of giving Flip, Grigs, Hudler, Kopecky, Franzen etc a chance to rise to the occaision. Out of our young core I'm sure a few of them will prove they deserve ice time. Plus the regular season doesn't start for a few more months and the trade deadline is far far away. So Holland has plenty of time to make moves, or adjust as the season gets going. Plus, who knows who will be buyers and who will be sellers come trade deadline time. Maybe we end up with a rental like Marleau or Heatly... or somebody more likely from a crappier team, but you get the idea.

I don't think Tampa could ever please me no matter what they do. The words Tampa Bay, Lightning and hockey are STILL hard for me to fully get used to. But I am a hypocrite since I cheer on the Coyotes despite year after year of terrible results.

I'm very happy with the choice we made. Rafalski is a very solid Dman and will definately put up some pretty good numbers in Detroit. Souray, as mentioned isn't the most responsible defensively in his own zone. Although IF he was half the price teams think he's worth I'd say he would be a good pick up. Would be nice to have another player who would play with some toughness, stick up for teamates, drop the gloves and all that "grit" talk which we have heard in every thiread since the off-season.

He sounds like he has potential- but then again he's 30. I'm sure he'll do well in GR and maybe if he gets a shot the he could be of service at some point for the Wings. Maybe that "in your face style" could even earn him a 4th line spot although I'd rather see Kopecky get some time to learn the ropes.

I don't know Colorado's cap space, but I think he'd go there if it was financially possible. 2. He won't come to the Wings. Just don't see it happening. And I'm curious about the level of hatred felt toward him. I can understand hating to play against him because he is so talented and can play a physical game but I've never seen him as a cheapshot artist or an excessive whiner (I use this term loosely since so many players are always yapping at the refs on the ice). I will always hate Claude, Roy, Foote and a handfull of others but Forsberg I have always respected. That said I don't see the Wings risking a high dollar salary on an injury risk player and I don't see Forsberg interested in coming to Detroit. It would be very very interesting if it some how happened though.

I wish Bettman would listen to the fans and players and fix the damn schedule. I bet a poll would be around 80% yes for putting inter-conference play back in. I agree that this NYR team is a playoff team, but not a Cup Contender at the moment. Of course next June is a loooooong time from now and I never would have predicted the Lightning, Canes and ******* Ducks would have been the last three Cup Champs. Ugh.

You might be right about his stats improving in Detroit, but no way he would sign for less than he and his agent think he's worth. He'd rather make a few bucks more in Russia than play for a contender for a smaller conctract even though he was bought out and gets that money already. Greedy. He can burn in hockey hell.
