Same here. I'd say it looks 8% better. (yeah that joke is getting a lil worn out, but too bad!)

Damn if reimbursement is that steep, he definately isn't going anywhere.

While Roy annoyed the hell outta me, I also really enjoyed his mistakes and meltdowns. Like Game 6of the WCF in '02 with that infamous " " and of course his shelling in Game 7. And I was in attendance, row 8 behind Roy He was fun to hate, so for some reason I hate him less... I forgot about Borque. For some reason he really really bugged me too. It's incredibly lame of the Avs to retire his jersey IMO.

Rumor: Blue Jackets may buy out Fedorov's contract
Wings_Fan_In_Exile replied to HockeyCrazy3033's topic in General
Yeah I wasn't happy with Shanahan signing in NY to say the least.. but one big difference to me is I don't remember Shanahan -or many Wings for that matter- holding out on a contract for more money. Fedorov held out 59 games of the 97-98 season cashing out at $28 million for 43 total games, $2 mil base, $14 mil signing bonus and $12 million bonus for the Wings reaching the WCF. Contract holdouts never win fans over. Heck as a Coyotes fan I'm still bitter about Tkachuk and Khabibulin over that. And yes, still a bit bitter with Fedorov too. I don't hate him, but I am bitter. *grammar* -
Damn office job. It's always somebody's birthday and just like in office space there is cake and singing and before I know i'm eating a big ole slice! Bah! On the bright side I've been riding my bike to work and eating a cup o soup for breakfast, ramen for lunch and a "sensible" dinner. haha. Not the healthiest diet but it'll work. I think next week I'll reactivate my gym membership too. Any updates out there? I haven't checked a scale but I think I'm still hovering at 215lbs @ 6' 1"

1. Ulf Samuelson 2. Claude Lemieux 3. Ron Hextall/Ed Belfour 4. Chris Pronger 5. Darien Hatcher Honorable mention goes to Jason Blake. I know people that grew up with him and he is NOT a very popular guy for good reasons. I know I am missing a handful, but they popped up in my mind first. I hate A LOT of players in the league. *Had to mention Ricci and Bryan Marchment on this thread*

http://www.penisland.net/ Funny, but not what you think. And the site won't make you go blind I promise.

I'd love to see the Wings get him. He'd be worth whatever picks we would give up, but with the cap I don' think there would be any way we could afford him and be able to fill our current holes with quality players. I'd also be surprised if Buffalo let him go.

...you lost me. Not that difficult a task I guess.... *ah the thread title.... dyslexia happens man. *

WhileKariya is one talented mofo and we could use his shot, he is pretty dang small too. I think we have enough smallish talented players, lets add a little size/grit to this team. Spend the $ on re-signing Bert for some of that grit and Schneider for a repeat of what he brought us this season. I like Markov a lot, but if we can't afford him maybe bring in a more physical presence for the blueline. Too bad Shanahan won't come back here. He fit in perfectly.

Rumor: Blue Jackets may buy out Fedorov's contract
Wings_Fan_In_Exile replied to HockeyCrazy3033's topic in General
Very true. But Lang also scored 74 pts in 63 games with Washington in 03-04 (79 pts total, 5 with the Wings ) when the Caps were tied for 2nd worst in the league. The same year Fedorov had 65 pts in 80 games on the Ducks who finished 17 points higher in the standings that year. So Fedorov on a "better" team was already offensively less productive than Lang. Yeah they are only stats, and don't really factor in defensive ability (although I think the +/- hints at it) but my point is that Lang seems so unpopular on this board and I think Fedorov would be the new Lang. We get him cheaper than we paid Lang, maybe it's worth a shot. I'd personally rather see the team get younger and tougher, not reach ten years back for an aging player. As far as Hasek, I sure as hell didn't know he'd have that kind of season. I admit I was pretty nervous when he was signed last year. -
After the first few beers go down, the ceiling stuff just adds to the flavor I'm sure. Oh and nice pictures people. I stand by my claim the Red Wings fans are some of the best looking out there!

Rumor: Blue Jackets may buy out Fedorov's contract
Wings_Fan_In_Exile replied to HockeyCrazy3033's topic in General
Yeah you're right, numbers aren't everything. Especially since he does have a defensive upside. I'd be skeptical IF we ended up with him for more than $2mil a year but who knows. I was skeptical of us signing Dom too. Good thing Holland knows more than I do. If he is bought out I expect to see the Blue Jackets get aggressive come July 1. -
Rumor: Blue Jackets may buy out Fedorov's contract

It's also safe to say Nash had an off year, as he matures as a player while Fedorov is on a downward trend which at least in part is due to his age/health. My point is he is NOT the guy we had for our last cup run. Would bringing him back up his production? Maybe a litlte. Maybe worth a 1-year contract at a cheaper price. All of this IF he is bought out of course. -

I thinkyou present an interesting argument. IF he did get bought out maybe he actually would sign cheap. Then I'd be OK with the risk. But I would still rather see the team get a little younger (at least under 35, we have enough older guys) and tougher and he doesn't really provide that. -
How well do your dad and aunt get along??

Filppula while only an inch or two taller and a pound or two heavier, seems to avoid getting bullied around as much as I've seen happen to Hudler.

Rumor: Blue Jackets may buy out Fedorov's contract
Wings_Fan_In_Exile replied to HockeyCrazy3033's topic in General
LIke I said previously, he is less productive offensively than Lang has been and plenty of people here have called Lang useless.... I'm not saying either one is, but food for thought. IMO having Fedorov on point for the PP would be nice IF we don't re-sign Schneider, but I wouldn't want to pay a whole heck of a lot for a 37 year old sub-20 goal scorer who is past his prime. -
Scott Niedermayer Considering Retirement
Wings_Fan_In_Exile replied to RedWingsFanatic's topic in General
I doubt it will happen but I'd love it if he did. Not that I dislike him -he has a solid career and seems to be a pretty classy guy- but I want the Ducks WEAKENED!!! RETIRE Gray beard!!!! -

Rumor: Blue Jackets may buy out Fedorov's contract
Wings_Fan_In_Exile replied to HockeyCrazy3033's topic in General
I don't see the appeal. He's older and been less productive than Robert Lang, and we all know how popular that guy is..... Fedorov since the lockout GP G A PTS +/- 73 18 24 42 -7 67 12 32 44 -2 Lang since the lockout GP G A PTS +/- 81 19 33 52 12 72 20 42 62 17 I think he's pretty much done. IF he gets bought out I'd say bring him on for CHEAP. I can't rationalize him making more than say, Hasek who we know would contribute much more than Fedorov. *spelling* -
I haven't heard that one. Where did you learn that? That would uglify the Wings jersey. Call me old fashioned but some things shouldn't change... like Original 6 jerseys.
