and the puppy eyes thats my new puppy molly. Is that a Red Wings collar by any chance?

You've got me all nostalgic. I spent a large part of my Junior High School years playing that game. As far as the jerseys I look forward to the draft when we see some of the REAL ones.

That is a great song. Listening to Nirvana - Nevermind, whole album.

That's pretty damn funny. hahaha.

I voted, UPDATE: N. Lidstrom (DET) 43.06% S. Niedermayer (ANA) 47.27% C. Pronger (ANA) 9.68%

Funny thing was I saw both posts both posted within the same moment, both with 0 replies. I replied to the one with more views and it turned out to be the "duplicate". Sonnuva

It amazes me that he is still effective at 45. Great news!

Same here..... well for the top two at least. The rest I don't like so much. Of course I'm sure all of those are created by fans, so we'll see what the real ones look like. But I do hope they change the current logo, it's so lame in my opinion. I did like the alternates they used this year....

I hear you on losing motivation after a long day at the office. I often have the same problem. But you said it yourself, get a routine and stick with it, stay active and your weight will drop. Less junk food helps too. I hadn't seen this thread til edicius bumped it but I can relate with a lot of folks here. I'm 6'1" weighed 190lbs in High School when I was still an athlete. This past winter full of blizzards, a new girlfriend, a car accident and two months on the couch for playoff hockey and I'm now around 215lbs (from around my normal 200). What has been killing me is the waistline. I was a 30" waist in HS, 32" in college, 33"-34" was still acceptible but now I probably need a 36" waistline to fit comfortably. Can't bring myself to buy bigger pants so I'm on board with this thread (albeit very late). I started biking to work this week and will encorporate some weight training and cardio daily and TRY to eat healthier food, but I hate cooking so we'll see. Anyway, any updates from anybody? *oh and my target weight is around 200lbs (fits my frame) but more importantly fitting in my pants comfortably again!!!*

The Frozen Moment Pic (Joe Thornton)made me think of this "better" one. Here's to Lidstrom winning the Norris again. Another excuse to sit on the couch and watch HOCKEY.

My interpretation of that was that IF Hasek doesn't come back he'd want to know so he could trade for a starting goalie. Bring Floppy back for one more year. ANd for some reason that article left me with the impression we sign Schneider but not Bertuzzi.

Same here. Leave the nets alone. And go back to the old schedule. I think it's a joke that a fan has to wait like four years to see an opponent live from the Eastern Conference. I have no issues with composite sticks either. And I really like #1 on the list. And for #2, ESPN would be so nice.... stupid contracts.

When was your first Wings game at the Joe?

Damn you! Didn't they play the Ducks that night too? Stupid Ducks. -

January 2, 2007 was ALMOST my first JLA game. I was ready to buy plane tix and everything, but even on e-bay everything sold out very quickly after tickets were released. I will just have to settle for cheering the Wings on here in Colorado. The locals love that. -
That is pretty damn funny. I'll leave judgement of the new jerseys to the players that will be wearing them. If the players think they are an improvement, so be it. That and no major changes to the actual appearance of Wings (any original 6 team) jersey itself.

IMO it's not whether or not the fans deserve the championship. Becuase those of you Duck fans out there that live and die by the Duck certainly deserve to see your boys win the Cup. BUT, if there are only 15,000 or so of you in Anaheim willing to go show that support on a Saturday, that shows me that the CITY doesn't really deserve a Cup... Sure the Ducks have to fight for "market share" or whatever with the Sharks and Kings. That argument to me just reinforces the oversaturation of hockey teams in CA.

I've never been a fan of Yashin and hope the Wings stay away. He seems to have an ongoing attitude problem from what I've read. Plus in his last 15 NHL playoff games he has a whopping 5 points (four of those points came in 2003). I say pass. Money is tight in the days of the salary cap and he isn't worth the space.

It does seem to me that sooner or later he will get his team in Ontario. It sucks for Predator fans but I think it will be good for the league.
-
I'd be pretty damn surprised if he retired. Happy, because I don't like the Ducks. But I bet he definately comes back.

To me the "smalll" turnout is kind of sad simply because winning the Stanley Cup is such an awesome, difficult and somewhat rare thing to do and a lot of people in California don't seem to realize that or care. On the other hand Toronto fans -even though I really dislike Toronto fans- they LOVE their team- have been waiting since like 1967 for another Cup win. I picture the turn out in Toronto, Montreal, Boston, Detroit.. then read about the one in Anaheim. Hopefully the successful season will convert some fans out there, but it is a shame that the Cup didn't go somewhere that more people would appreciate it. That being said I completely respect you diehard Ducks fans that do support them- especially the ones that have for longer than this season. I grew up in Arizona and had to defend being a hockey fan on a daily basis. Enjoy the victory, next season should be a good one.

Damn that must have been one helluva experience. I'm very jealous. I totally understand and respect the tradition the players have of not touching the Cup til they win it, but being a 25 year old dude working an office job... I don't see myself winning the Stanley Cup anytime soon. I'd totally lift it up too. What a badass pic. Lucky bastard! Hopefully you didn't get leftover Pronger spit on you when you kissed it....

It's this "pastime" most Americans seem obsessed with for some reason... I never understood why, and I'm an American....

Serious Talks Of Expansion...And The Wings Moving East
Wings_Fan_In_Exile replied to Sleight's topic in General
The only thing from that article I believe to be possible/likely is the Predators moving to Canada in a few years. I can't imagine another expansion happening. No way. -
haha me too. After I keep seeing all these articles about Anaheim citizens being completely unaware "their" hockey team just won the Stanley Cup or are more interested in their friggin baseball team. I know I'm bitter about the Wings losing to them but still, it sucks to see the Cup go to a place where it isn't as appreciated as it would be in places where ice (hockey) acutally exists naturally.

Nate Robertson must be a baseball player, which might explain why I've never heard of him. haha.
