More dismal ratings for Cup clincher When the series switched to NBC, Game 3 was seen in 1.2 million homes and produced a 1.1 national rating, matching a July 2005 rerun of "The West Wing" as the lowest-rated prime-time broadcast in NBC history. The Ducks' 6-2 win over Ottawa on Wednesday night received a 2.5 overnight rating and 4 share, NBC said Thursday. That marked a 14 percent drop from Game 5 last year, a 4-3 overtime victory by Edmonton over Carolina. Ouch. I wonder how much of that is marketing, and how much is that a Ducks/Senators series isn't all that exciting. At least not without Emelio Estevez. I think Versus is part of the problem. I have friends in different states that hadn't seen any NHL games all season beyond the local team because VS doesn't exist where they live. Marginal hockey fans didn't even know the playoffs were going on! bah!

IF the Ducks win tonight it will be the first time ever I don't watch the Cup get presented to the captain of the winning team. I know this forum is really harsh on Pronger -me included- But I refuse to watch him skate with the Cup. C'mon Sens, pull off a miracle!!!

Sonnuva...... I was really really really hoping the Sens evened the series. I don't think I can stomache Pronger hoisting the Cup. Kudos to the Ducks though, they took it too the Sens once again.

Man, I just watched Pronger's "work" on Youtube Pronger pancaking Holstrom and ...ouch Both of those plays scream "intent to injure". Watching them back to back kind of drives it in to me that this guy ain't changing his style of play any... which he has said himself in interviews.

If there were to be a big ugly brawl in the Finals, the Ducks are the team that would start it. But I half expect the refs to be more whistle happy than normal to prevent it. Anyway, I really hope McAmmond is healthy enough to play, he was good in the minutes he played Saturday. That way save McGratton for a later game if need be to give Pronger a taste of his own medicine -if Ottawa stoops to Pronger's level.. I'm also surprised Emery hasn't lost it on a Duck falling all over him in the crease yet.

Take Pronger off the Ducks roster and 90% of my dislike for the team is gone. I think they are boring to watch, get away with interference, a lil roughing and goalie interference but calling them a disgrace is extreme. Pronger on the other hand... And thank god Disney isn't in the mix any more. Worst case scenario where the Ducks win at least doesn't involve Mickey Mouse hoisting the Cup.

It's pretty clear to me that Bettman is a business man first and hockey guy second, actually not at all a hockey guy. A lawyer from NY that studied under David Stern in the NBA. So all his decisions are concerned with the almighty dollar (US) and not with hockey fans (especially Canadians) in mind such as screwing over Hockey Night in Canada to cater to NBC. Dumbing up the names of the conferences to be "fan friendly" while ignoring the history and tradition that most hockey fans appreciate. Goodbye Wales & Campbell Conferences Watching hockey cities such as Winnipeg, Minnesota, Quebec City, and Hartoford lose hockey to go to places like Arizona, Texas and Carolina (although I am among the rare Coyotes fans out there) and expanding to Columbus and Nashville. It's a shame that those hockey cities lost their teams, often to go to a city where hockey is fourth or fifth on the radar of the local sports scene (I grew up in AZ, trust me it's not hockey friendly). It also sucks to see him change the names of the conferences, change the rules and it really really sucked when he took away an entire season. And half of one some years back. What sucks the most is all of his moves have not only pissed of hockey fans, but that his moves have FAILED. Hockey went from a sport on the rise to falling behind NASCAR and Golf! bah! Get him outta there!

That is a little of a harsh reply there, I don't hide my opinion when I disagree with someone, but I do try to avoid calling someone out. Even trolls. Back on topic, the suspension was what I expected. I also expect Neal to get a good hit (hopefully) legal, on Pronger in Game 5.

He seems to have a talent and getting away with cheapshots. I'd love for Chris Neil to drop the gloves with him.
