Good post, welcome to the board. This should be a good series. If both teams show up this should go the full 7.

I agree with not breaking up the Cleary/Maltby/Draper line. It's been really solid. I also think Betuzzi/Lang/Franzen is starting to click so to me putting Calder up there for a try might make sense, but he has seemed invisible in the games I have watched (when he was in the line up).

Yeah, I'm dragging up an old topic, but I just had to throw it out there since I'm a Shane Doan fan. He does actually have a pretty tough, physical, gritty side to his game. Definately a power forward. He just doesn't get much attention since he plays in Arizona where hockey stays very low on the radar. I would have loved to see him in a Red Wings jersey... There are better fighters and hitters out there, but he definately has a physical game.

Hopefully he is healthy enough for Game 2. I wonder if he'll be wearing a visor. It'll be interesting to see how the lines get juggled too.

This amused me a bit too. Fire NHL Referee Mick McGeough Petition "2400 Total Signatures" Apparently we aren't the only ones...

I specifically hate Mick because he stands out to me more than the rest. It seems like the worst called games I've seen- in person and on TV, are called by him. Good riddance. I expect the calls in the playoffs to slowly improve. I remember last year round one seemed to be a penalty fest too and then slowly taper off as the playoffs got deeper. I hope that's what happens at least. Some of those hooking calls are so weak.

Thanks for bringing us the good news. And I agree, last night there were way too many calls for the 3rd period of a game 7. Especially the last 5-10. They basically took over the game.

Yeah Denver is far from a hockey town. All Broncos, all the time. I went to the NCAA Frozen Four Western Regional Finals and it wasn't even a full arena. Pretty disappointing. As was watching Michigan lose to UND. Grrrr.... Too bad the Avs were a win away from replacing the Flames in the first round. I would have loved to be at the Pespi Center cheering on the Wings. And with Bert, maybe a renewed rivlalry could remind people here hockey exists. Sadly most Avs fans know little more than "red wings suck" they can't tell you who plays for who though.....

Oh I will. I was quite happy to find a Red Wings site. Don't have a lot of fellow Wings fans out here in Colorado. Although I do enjoy pissing Av's fans on a regular basis.

Well, I watched in Colorado with another Red Wings fan. It was technically shown on Versus from CBC. Wings fans are everywhere! Before Colorado I cheered em on in Arizona. I am a Lions fan too (both since '94) so don't give me the bandwagon bit please.

I NEVER thought I'd say this but I am rooting for Dallas too. Mainly because of how SJ handled Nashville. That was pretty impressive, they seem to be on a roll.

The Coyotes traded Briere for that worthless player a few years back. One of the many reasons Mike Barnett was FINALLY fired. Very glad Gratton didn't go and pollute my other favorite team. It was bad enough when Phoenix signed Claude Lemiuex and Detroit signed Hatcher.
