Cool. Again, nicely done. It makes a very nice desktop for me. In fact I found this board via Google search looking for a good looking playoff "bracket".

I've heard that one before pretty sure it's been around. Although Demolition Man was new to me this series, and I've been a Wings fan since '94. Of course My family moved from Michigan in 1980 so that could be why....

So did this message board coin "Rex" and "Pain Train". I'm new the board and hadn't heard those before. In fact it took me a bit to figure out who they are.

Best thing about round 2, playing an AMERICAN team.

Really? I thought I saw my first hockey game in HD last night on my buddy's new big screen HDTV. Sonnuva. I feel cheated haha. -
He'll always be Cheli to me...

I say Bring It! If we can stay relatively healthy I think the Wings are the better team. But I would prefer to see the Sharks and Ducks beat each other up too.

haha, do not underestimate them. They will return in full force at the first sign of COMPETITION. Apparently the Stanley Cup Finals should be easy.

I think the main reason I'd be happy they aren't playing a Canadian team would be simply that it's a less hostile crowd. I'm sure the "Shark Tank" gets loud but I find it hard to believe that it can rival Calgary fans. Talk about dedicated fans. I've never seen so many people wearing jerseys like them. Although that damn air horn really was getting on my nerves haha. As far as the refs, I agree they did a pretty bad job with most of the series, but overall it did go both ways. Overall... they still had a few that really pissed me off, but that's just the way it goes. -
I'd love to see the two #1 seeds battle it out.

If they had to get rid of two teams I'd say they should BOTH be American teams. In fact I'd like to send the Florida Panthers to Quebec, Tampa to Winnepeg (I grew up in AZ so I like the Coyotes- yeah kind of a hypocrite) and send turn the Hurricanes into the Whalers in Hartford again. And send the Wild to Dalls in exchange for bringing back the North Stars. I can dream.

Should Sergei Fedorov's number be retired in the future?

No. Jedi and Kp-Wings said what I was thinking. Now Lidstrom, I can see that happening. -
To me it seemed more like a point/taunt/fake swing type of move. It made Hasek look stupid more than menacing to me. Wasn't surprised he got a penalty out of it. While I thought Game 5 got ugly, it was not as ugly as the Ducks vs Wild got. The punishment was about right to me. I'm just glad the two handed slash didn't go any higher on Franzen. Could've been bad. I am glad Hatcher no longer plays for the Wings. I hate that guy.

Sweet Victory! I too hope Homer is able to bounce back. I couldn't see anything but the towel over his face. While he did go to the hospital, he did sit on the bench momentarily, so I imagine it wasn't THAT urgent of a cut.

I'm hoping Bertuzzi continues to improve, if he gets his steam back he could be a FORCE on the 2nd line. If this goes to 7 I too might have a heart attack.

a disturbing stat for the wings since 2002

I'd really hope no matter what the outcome of this years playoffs that the you are wrong about the Joe being empty. Overall they have been one of the most successful teams the last decade. A handfull of President Trophies, 16 STRAIGHT years of playoffs and 3 STANLEY CUPS? I'm a Red Wing fan so I don't feel bad saying this, but Wings fans have it pretty easy (at least since '97). Die hard Leafs fans have been waiting since what? 1967 to win another cup? Chicago even longer, and plenty of teams have never even won. And I lived in AZ for 22 years and lemme tell ya, it's a lot harder to root for a team with no history and very little playoff appearences let alone success. -
Inconsistent might be the best way to describe Lang. I don't know if he is just a slow skater or lazy, but sometimes he looks sluggish and other times (seemingly much less often lately) he is setting up scores. Go figure I agree with the penalty bit too. I remember when playoff hockey started the refs would let em play quite a bit more. Hopefully all the whistles taper off as the playoffs continue. It is NEVER a good thing when hockey makes you think NBA, haha. And I hope Iginla doesn't get too deep into Hasek's head. Between the dive and fake slash he looked pretty stupid in a 10 second turn of events.

I agree: I don't think he has been AS bad (at least in Game 4) as people have been leading on. He was involved in both goals last night. But at the same time he did lose the puck with the empty net, that was just plain ugly. While I don't think he should be benched, I also don't think he should be out there in clutch situations. And I'm not sure why they have Sammy on the point. Schneider has a rocket from back there...

I'm pretty amazed at the level of pessimism on some of this board. For it being an even series with 2 of 3 games left at The Joe (I'm guessing this goes to 7) I'm still decently optimistic they can pull it off. Heck yeah it was frustrating watching them throw away a 2 game lead, but they didn't get blown out either. The Flames (while I really don''t like them) are a pretty decent team and it would be foolish to expect the Wings to walk all over them. My only worry so far has been special teams like a lot of people have mentioned. Maybe getting out of that insane Saddledome will help them get it together. And Kudos to the Flames fans that have posted on this thread. Nice honest posts, no picking fights.
