yeah, i know what you're saying when a team finds some success and suddenly everyone has the jerseys, to me it's just funny ... not sure you can blame someone for jumping on the bandwagon though, at that point they're just new fans ... to me, a fairweather fan is determined when the team sucks again and the jerseys start to disappear, seats start to empty ... there's nothing wrong if someone becomes a fan during the good times and then sticks it out from then on ...

he's playing on the 4th line ... he's not a fighter, and i can't picture him flying all over the rink laying the body on people ... what is he going to do to suddenly spark the pens? i'm not saying 4th line guys don't have an impact, but i would guess he brings more of a calming influence in the ice and in the locker room ...

lighten up ... you're the one who started this thread, calling out one of our players and insinuating he's soft, questioning his heart and why he isn't playing, and in the process bringing up the same old tired stereotype that all europeans are soft ... nobody here has told you anything you couldn't have figured out on your own ... why start this thread?

i'm with the OP, franzen's a wuss ... brain damage, shmain shmamage, if rocky can tough it out, why can't franzen? and that was boxing, and he's still fine ... speaking of lame excuses for injuries, why aren't fischer and konstantinov playing? what's with all these soft euros? this is the stanley cup finals, suck it up and shake it off boys!

This I agree with ... especially without Franzen, we don't have a second line that can match yours ... to be honest, I don't know who's on your 3rd and 4th lines, so I won't bother comparing them ... however, I will counter (as many already have) that our defense is better through all 3 pairings ... -

it looks like you're counting primary scoring as top 3 players and secondary as everyone else ... to me primary scoring comes from your top line and secondary comes from your others ... so franzen would count as secondary scoring ... but maybe that's just me ... either way, now that he's gone we definitely need someone to step up ... -

shoule be interesting, poile gets a lot of credit for being a solid GM with a tight budget, but in a way having a tight budget is good in that it limits your options both good and bad ... having the freedom to spend $$$ often means you have the ability to make a lot more really bad deals ... -

yeah, that wasn't an angle they had, at least from what they showed on air ... i was watching, and while the replays made it pretty obvious that the puck crossed, none of then actually showed the puck across ... with the on-ice call being no-goal, i guess they had to go with that ...

i understand the sentiment, i like downey, but the whole point of deadline acquisitions is to upgrade your team, and sometimes people who have been there all season lose playing team ... obviously the coaches think mac brings something to the table that downey doesn't, and i don't see any reason to fix what ain't broke ...
