Can't blame Hasek... he played one hell of a game. That save in the first period was the greatest save I've ever seen. We just got unlucky that's all. still pisses me the hell off though.

I think it's hard to say... I think if you put Giggy on Calgary's squad behind a lot LESS defense, you'd see how good he is. Kipper is an outstanding goalie, and so is Giggy, but Giggy's got better D. I'm leaning more towards Kip on this one

holy CRAP! what a nailbiter! that game was awesome. I know everyone and their little sister has already said it, but Dominic Hasek is the ultimate AntiDuck. It looked tonight like the opposite of the calgary series... it seemed like every game in the calgary series we were outshooting them nearly 2-1, but somehow they managed to stay in it. In this game, it seemed like we were getting outshot like crazy but still outscored them. *shrug* However the hell we get the win works for me!

Ok, I know that our cockiness as fans (or lack thereof) will have no effect on the play of our team whatsoever... but it will have an effect on every person who looks at us and decides that we're all assholes. We have reason to be confident, but only pricks are needlessly cocky

*ahem* the team we just beat in six games had some pretty HUGE guys too. They were big, strong, fast and ugly as hell! (especially Cheech ) So anyone who thinks that just because anaheim is big that means we're knee deep in s***, they're wrong. Yes, Pronger is an incredible player. Yes, Niedermayer is a stud, and yes, Giguere is a stonewall. But for goodness sakes, they haven't been tested as strongly as the Wings have, and the Wings have won both series like champs. I'm calling Wings in six AGAIN.

I hope all the people who bashed Lidstrom during this series (especially regwinguofmfan) were watching tonight. Lids played absolutely phenomenal, just like he has been all year. He made that save on Hasek's only mistake of the game, he stopped a 2 on 1, he contained SJ all game, and played worthy of the C on his chest. I've always said it and will continue to say it: Lids is as good as it gets on D.

30 seconds away from going down 3-1, and we end up winning 4-2. Incredible. What buffalo did to the rangers, we just did to the sharks: tie the game with only seconds remaining, win it in overtime, take the momentum of the series with the victory and eliminate the opponent. Atta boy lang

I echo the statement by Quutamo up there... We have to be careful that we don't underestimate this team. It's easy to do that after beating a rough and tough opponent like SJ. Pronger is a beast, Niedermayer is a stud, Giggy is a brick wall, and hasn't anyone ever seen Mighty Ducks 1,2 or 3? Ducks fly together! But in all seriousness... it's gonna be tough series. I think we can take 'em, and have nothing but faith in my Wiings, but let's not jump to hasty conclusions. This will be challenging.
