Hockey Falls was hilarious! Another one I liked was the Fox NHL commcercials. The Verizon Wireless Commcercials were pretty funny too The "You wouldn't make it in the NHL" ones! Good stuff. The best ever would have to be the Nike Hockey Commercials though. Not the Naslund/Kovalchuk one but the out of work goalie ones. GREAT commercials. Fedorovs was pretty good too, but thats probably cause he was my favorite player at the time. Here's the one, also pretty funny! Suuuuuuper odd! Last Tuesday (I play roller and ice hockey every Tues, Wed & Sun) I was skating down the ice, some guy dove in front of my (at high speed) and I flipped over and landed straight on my back. Its been killing me ever since, hasnt even got the LITTLEST better. And I'm not talking some 'pathetic injury' here. I tried skating since then and everytime I push off with my left leg it KILLS! I need a cortisone/cortizone (sp?) shot! This curse has DEFINITELY hit the Wings fans

Dont think for one SECOND that Babs isnt trying to upgrade his status in the hockey world. Me, my dad, brother and cousin were JUST talking about how good the Wings are at selling their players. ESPECIALLY their prospects. The only one true example I can think of off the top of my head is with the Tigers (I know its not hockey but...) look at Maybin. The Tigers make this kid out to be the next greatest player ever. He hasnt proved a thing. Instead they have a proven top 10 player taking his place. The Wings do this EXACT same thing with its players and prospects. So first and foremost, Babs is getting his publicity and worth going and secondly, OF COURSE he's helping his confidence!

i totally agree with you.. its really sad that players cant speak their minds. instead they have to result to "well, we need to stay on our game, play hard. the other team is playing well. they have a good team. bulls*** bulls*** bulls***" its SO annoying. if i was a player it wouldnt care about a measily fine and would totally speak my mind! Coaches are 100 TIMES WORSE too!

WONDERFUL! these threads are getting out of hand. as for the debate, its not a debate. i dont care if "hasek always starts slow".. he's old, osgoods playing like a god, if ANY SINGLE ONE of us were coaching, Hasek wouldnt be in net until Osgood started to slump. I cant imagine anyone would disagree???

you have aboslutely NOTHING to worry about at the Joe! you might get some crap from fans... i emphasize that it'll be YOU though, not him. i'm sure you'll hear some people say how horrible of a parent you are or things alike but no one WOULD EVER harm or touch you or your little boy. I went to the 'Hawks game this past Saturday and there were NUMEROUS people in Chicago jerseys including some of my friends (our buddy is Wisnewski) and while they did get some comments thrown their way no one ever took it too far! you'll be all good! ohhhhhhh, and if you dont convert your son soon, he's gonna grow up liking a team that will PROBABLY SUCK after the next couple years! besides, the Ducks have NO history like the Wings do... While youre there explain to him who Howe and Yzerman are, explain to him all the history the Wings have and how amazing of a team they are. Then proceed to tell him how the Ducks were named after a stupid Disney hockey movie and have only won a single cup. End of story!

yea there were definitely a larger number of Chicago fans at the game last night, larger than you would normally see an opposing fan at the Joe. One of my buddies actually plays for the Blackhawks. James Wisniewski... none the less, me and 2 buddies went down to the game last night, of course rooting for Detroit!!! But there were a large number of our buddies who Wiz got tickets for that were rooting for Chicago. Soo... having a hometown kid play for the 'Hawks is gonna bring a small group of people to that game tho for sure!

yeeeeeeaaaa... I REALLY hope youre kidding about Raffie. Now as for Hasek, I would completely agree he has NO business being in net over Osgood. Why on EARTH they feel the need to take a hot goalie who's.. what?... 8-1? 9-1? and bench him cause Haseks our #1? well, it completely blows my mind. I was at the game last night, cener ice, 9 rows up... Raffie made a VERY simple mistake, but compared to the mistakes Hasek made, I already forgave Raffie. Besides, the whole team last that game!

I'm sorry but you must've not played hockey or have been taught the game very well. If Dats scored 10 goals all season long, yet racks up 90 assists, he STILL has a 100 point season. Now Im truely convinced youre like most hockey fans who think that scoring goals is more important than an assist when anyone who TRUELY understands the game knows that an assist is JUST AS GOOD AS A GOAL! You know its just like in the San Jose game when Dats took it almost end to end, make a SICK move on the defenseman, drew both D over to him and all Z had to do was tap it in the net. Now who did more work there??? DATSYUK. which is strictly why "A POINT IS A POINT"!!! There's no other way of looking at it. 100 points is 100 points, whether its 90 goals and 10 assist or 1 goal and 99 assist. and as long as theyre winning im sure Dats is happy, ESPECIALLY since his buddy is the scoring leader!

As of right now, after I voted Detroits easily sweeping this poll with 47%. The other teams on the list are: "Saint Paul" (why wouldnt they put Minnesota?) with 20% Buffalo with 19% and Philidelphia with 15% stupid little poll? yes, but the bigger the percentage, the prouder it makes ME to be a Wings fan!!! p.s. Am I a total moron or does this equl out to 101%??? I know it really does but how does that make ANY sense?

yea, youre right, Shattuck St. Marys. They're the equivalent to.. say.. C.C. High School here in Michgan. except theyre about 10 times better. my old team actually played them in a AAA tourney quit a few years back now. We beat C.C. 3-2 and Shattucks basically destroyed us!

yea youre right about that. their pro-team might not be anything special, but as a whole state, minnesota is a HUUUUGE state for hockey. they're high-school hockey is comparable to AAA hockey in any other state. (actually now that I think about it, im pretty sure they only have high school hockey, that dont have midget majors/minors). I remember when I was playing high school hockey Minnesota was the number 1 state for drafting in high school, followed by Michigan in second. So yea, they do have a right to be on the poll.. Philly? im not sure about. as for the goof who said Anaheim??? ummm, not even close. IF anaheim were on the poll, they'd probably be at about 2% right now!

you DEFINITELY should! To me, this poll just proves that the Wings might not sell out games, but our fans are still alive and well. The economy (while i dont think its the WHOLE reason) is, of course, not helping ticket sales either. But Im sure theres many people like me who work and just make enough to get by and cant make it to every game. BUT YOU BETTER BELIEVE that I will not miss one single game this season on television! Even if im at work (I work at Outback) I'll put the game on one of our big screens and watch most of it while I can.

i guess my only point is, why mess up something that has worked thus far? we've won our past 6. albeit against teams who are either not very strong or are VERY strong teams such as San Jose or Anaheim, but are just slumping. none the less, we are winning. I understand your points of us not being very deep. But understand that team chemistry can make up for quit a bit of that. All we can do is hope that Holland & Co. can make an unbelievable trade deadline acquisition that makes our second line much stronger, or that Flip, Huds and Sammy become the scorers that they should be. Until then as long as we're winning games and Zetterbergs getting the recognition he deserves as top point getter in the league, I have NO problem with the DZH line sticking together. Thus far, its proving to be the right thing.

oh really? than how is it that only ONE single team was able to stop the Senators top line last year? youre telling me 4 teams that the Senators faced in the Eastern Conference couldnt figure out how to stop them, well thats because theyre among the best players in the WORLD and no, its not that easy to simply "figure out a way to stop them". if its so easy to stop them than why thru 12 games hasnt anyone been able to?? they back defenseman off with ease, play puck possesion without any challenge. sorry, but if it were THAT easy to stop them, than Zetterberg wouldnt be the top scorer in the NHL. break him apart from the DZH line, he wont be the top point leader for long.

they're DEFINITELY gonna be playoff contenders this year. i said it from the beginning when some guy bragged about taking sopel away from us. with toews (and lets not forget about Kane here people, his goal was insane too last night) .... these 2 kids are gonna do to the Blackhawks what Crosby, Staal and Malkin are doin for the Penguins. and THANK GOD! its about time we got some divisional rivals again..

when in gods name would hank ever say "egh, we had a better team last year, with more depth. we've downgraded" c'mon! these players are taught by specialist on what to say to the media not to look bad.. trust me, my buddy plays for Chicago and tells me about it. hence why you never hear players bash their team

no, but at the least its pretty damn funny to see everyone sporting a "FIRE BETTMAN" t-shirt as it was everyone holding the "Fire Millen" signs. effective, it isnt... what it is.. funny as HELL!
