  1. Yeah, you mean that guy who went 2G+3A=5P in 6 games (both of those goals being GWG -- and one of them the series clincher in OT), with a faceoff percentage of 64.2% while taking a majority of the faceoffs -- what a loser who totally disappeared, huh? I'd really hate to have a guy like Joe Thornton on my team.
  2. Hello again. I'm going to be honest -- I was rooting for the Hawks to win last night because as a Sharks' fan I would have preferred to play a tired Chicago to a rested Detroit. But maybe that rest will actually be more like rust, although I wouldn't count on it, as Detroit is a team that's been around the block a few tiimes and knows what it takes, as a total organization, to win the big shiny thing. Sharks still haven't gotten the memo, but I'm keeping the faith (going on 20 years now) that maybe, just maybe, this is they year they finally get it. Ideally, it would have been nice to get a little retribution for last year's WCF sweep at the hands of the Hawks and then go on to face Detroit in the third round this year, but alas, it wasn't to be. Looking for a great, competive, exciting series in which no one gets hurt. Bring on the Wings!

WCSF Game 4 GDT: Sharks 1 at Red Wings 7

Well, there was the song "Radio" by Smash Mouth ( ) with the lyric "San Jo who would have ever thought" at the 0:59, 1:27 mark which refers to the band being from San Jose and making it big.And the Doobie Brothers, Trapt, and the Smothers Brothers were all from the South Bay. Other than that, yeah, I got nothing.

    .BELIEVE / Have faith, etc.

I prefer "Lovin' Touchin' Squeezin'" and "Separate Ways." Now all you Wings fans DO realize that Journey is a Bay Area band, right? Might be bad mojo to call on them for your aid tonight. And I know that Jonathan Cain is a pretty big Sharks fan, too....

    to the sharks fans

Going into the series I would have said that the Sharks would win in 7 games. Now that they are up 3-0 I just can't see it going that far. In years past, yes, I could have seen the Sharks blowing a 3-0 lead and allowing the Wings to be the first team since the 1975 Isles to come back from a 0-3 deficit. Yes, the Sharks have worn that god-awful "choker" label ever since they've failed to advance past the second round after the lockout. Yes, the Sharks have been labeled mentally fragile. Yes, the Sharks won the President's Trophy last year and still crapped out to the 8th seeded Ducks. BUT, this ain't your mama's Sharks team. They are a different team this year than in years past . The additions of Malhotra and Nichol cannot be overstated enough. This Sharks team is hungrier, mentally tougher, grittier. Case in point -- When Dan Boyle scored the game-winning OT goal for the Avs in game 3 to put the Sharks down 1-2 in that series other Sharks teams of the past would have rolled over and played dead at that point. Had that happened to last year's team the Sharks would have lost to the Avs in 5 or 6 games. Instead, Dan Boyle scored 1 minute into game 4 and the Sharks rallied around him and they are undefeated since Dan scored that horrifying goal on Nabby. Along the way they've had two come-from-behind third period wins against the Wings. Does a mentally fragile team of chokers have the wherewithal to do that to the Wings not once, but twice? I think not. The Sharks will not allow this series to continue beyond 5 games. I can see the Wings winning tonight in a fit of desperation in front of the home crowd, but there is no way THIS Sharks team loses 4 games in a row. I'm hoping they can close out the series tonight, as I have a bad cold and I'd rather not have to drag my ass down to the Tank for a game 5 on Saturday. But if I have to, I will. I have plenty of TheraFlu and honey in the cupboard, although I've run out of Kleenex and I'm blowing my nose with Charmin instead.

    Most Profitable Cup Final

Yeah, 'cause with San Jose being in the 6th largest Metropolotain area in the US it would't help in drawing money to the local economy, ticket sales, concessions, merchandise, ratings, etc. You're always better off drawing from a smaller pool of potential fans to generate revenues.

Who would you most blame for a round 2 loss?

Actually, the Sharks scored every game winning goal in round one against the Avs as well. In game 1 the GWG went off Blake's skate and into the net. In game 3 Boyle shot it into our own net in OT. That was fun.

Why The Wings can win this series

Geeze, too bad for the Sharks that San Jose is neither in SoCal nor the deep south. 1) Buy an atlas (San Jose/the Bay Area is considered Northern California) 2) Take off the tin foil hat. There is no "NHL script" -- if there were, you'd think the NHL would have scripted a Stanley Cup for the team they placed in the US's 6th largest television market instead of allowing their fans to keep waiting through the first 19 years of the team's exisitence. Instead, in it's infinite wisdom, the NHL has granted the Red Wings, sitting in the 11th largest Metropolitan Market Region the right to win the Cup 4 times in the last 13 years. Where's the logic in that? Wouldn't you think the NHL would be more interested in coddling the bigger markets? Yet it's been the Wings who've won the majority of recents Cups. Oh, and Pittsburgh's TV market? 23rd in the US. Yeah, the NHL is making bank off promoting them so much. This kind of conspiracy talk makes everyone a little bit dumber.

    Setoguchi

I completely love this forever. The most awesome thing about this entire thread is that while it may have started out as a united-front whine-fest against a Sharks player who is not in any way, shape, or form known for diving (had it been ex-Shark Alex Korolyuk I'd have agreed with y'all 100%) but has now somehow degenerated into a Red Wing infighting pissing match with no help from outside sources. Now that's entertainment.
  10. And another no-talent effort....
  11. Flying my "mad skillz in MS Paint" flag again....
  12. Yeah, these made me lol pretty hard. I love the goofy smiles. As for adding more to this thread, I am a very bad photoshopper, but i will try my mad skillz in paint to see what I can come up with....another oldie....

Bring on the Sharks --- Again!

Forget HFBoards and try the Feeder Forums at letsgosharks.com. There;'s a link in my sig. OK, I'm one of the biggest Sharks fans around and I adore Danny Boyle, but I would still switch him out for Lidstrom. The man's got like eleventy-billion Norris Trophies and he's still pretty crafty after all these years. That's just a no-brainer.

Tickets to Game 5 in SJ

Tickets to game 5 will only go on sale through TicketMaster or at the HP Pavilion box office after the Sharks and Wings have each won one game in the series, necessitating that a game 5 will exist. Until then, the only option is the VIP Party Pass, which is a total ripoff for a game that may not be played. However, you could try buying the tickets off a season ticket holder -- try the ticket exchange forum at letsgosharks.com -- our users don't tend to jack up the prices as badly as other sites. There's a link in my sig to the forums, you have to be registered to post.

Bring on the Sharks --- Again!

Looking forward to an awesome series with the Wings. I'm hoping that this may finally be our 1997 -- after years of regular season success and a Pres Trophy, I'm hoping that this may be the year we can finally break through. Just as the Wings had to go through the Avs to get to their first Cup in 40 some-odd years, I'm hoping that if we can get past the mighty Wings we can possibly get to our first Cup in 20-ish years of existence. As someone said upthread, to be the best you have to beat the best. So I'm with titanium2 in thinking that this is an opportunity for the Sharks to really grow from past experience and overcome whatever the hell has kept us from reaching that next level since the lockout. Looking forward to the challenge. Here's to a great series without injury. May the best team prevail. Oh, and FYI -- Duck "fans" are the worst people in the universe; completely ignorant of the game's history and rules, drunk on recent Stanley Cup sucess (barf!) and mostly ignore their team (and also by virtue of being from SoCal from which all evil originates). But I digress.
  16. From last time we met in the playoffs.

    Sharks ready for Holmstrom?

According to an article in this morning's San Jose Mercury News, "The eye remains sensitive to light, but not enough to keep him out of the lineup tonight. " Make of that what you will. Full Article: Smith to get his chance for Sharks in Game 4

2007 Photoshop War: Red Wings vs Sharks

Scary looking smile on Homer -- he looks like Jack Nicholson as the Joker. Here's a silly one I threw together after game 2....You guys might be getting Homer back for game 4, but hopefully the Sharks are getting the ULTIMATE weapon for game 4 -- anyone but Mark Bell. He has officially been crowned The Black Hole.

GAME 3 (4/30): Red Wings @ Sharks- 10:00 PM ET

Just to throw a little fuel on the fire.... It was exactly 13 years ago today when #13 for the San Jose Sharks stunned the hockey world with a shot heard round the world.... Interestingly, both the goal scorer and the goalie will be in the Tank tonight. Jamie Baker is the color analyst on teh Sharks radio broadcast and Ozzie should be on the bench backing up Hasek. Hopefully, 13 is still an unlucky number for the Wings and that good juju can strike twice. Go Sharks!

Well, yeah, sure if you're gonna get all technical... But the fact remains, it's NOT in your trophy Case. IN YOUR FACE!!! (I'm grasping at straws here -- leave me to my fantasy world, alright?)

GAME 3 (4/30): Red Wings @ Sharks- 10:00 PM ET

Excellent. In which section did you get him a ticket? Mind you, for an "older" arena the Tank has excellent sightlines, so it really doesn't matter where he's sitting. Hope he is too upset at the outcome ofthe game...
