Wrong again I came on perfectly reasonable. I have never once uttered a foul word or personal attack. In fact my posts were quite tame. As soon as I mentioned 'Sharks in 5' I was deluged with the worst kind of foul, personal attacks. You're damn right I'm gonna respond. You really need to step back and take a good hard look at your fellow posters. They have been on the attack since I got here...

a. No I'm not, I'm assuming that the Wings have some physicality but have not faced a team like the Sharks. Not only did the Sharks physicality crush the Wings in the regular season, but they added Guerin and Rivet. b. All lines can score, but the Wings do not have a 4th line that can match the like of Clowe, Goc, Bernier. c. Zdeno Chara is vastly overrated. I've said so for 2 years. That being said, there's a reason the experts are nearly unanimous in picking the Sharks. They are huge, they are fast, and they are skilled. They forecheck relentlessly and will wear the Wings down. d. Again trying to equate what the Wings did to the Flames to what they'll do to the Sharks. The Flames are not in the same league as the Sharks, and you will find out soon. Sharks in 5...

Only if you think it has to be one or the other. The Sharks bring both physicality and skill. All the time. Every shift. And they're huge. They AVERAGE 6'2 215 acros the front line and are one of the least penalized teams in the league BECAUSE of their size. Want an example? Watch the Preds series. Games 1 and 2 were reasonably close. The teams split. But as the series wore on, the physicality, size and relentlessness of the Sharks simply wore them out. That's what you;re going to find. Maybe the Wings get one at home, but by the time they return for game 5, they're going to want to have nothing more to do with the Sharks combination of size, speed, forechecking, skill and the ability to roll 4 lines...

Irbe had a fine career, including putting the Canes on his shoulders a few years ago for another improbable playoff run. To be honest, all things being equal, I'd probably take Irbe over Osgood in their primes. Osgood did not win the cup for the Wings. He was more or less along for the ride on a freight train that couldn't be stopped. Irbe wins the cup too if he's on that team... San Jose has gone through the usual growing pains of an expansion franchise to become a model franchise that other teams are emulating. Not to mention being as good a bet as any to win the cup in their 16th year. But then if you really feel the need to compare your success to a franchise that wasn't even around in 1990, then be my guest. Whatever gets your rocks off...

uhhh... no it's not. try looking a ta map... Detroit has it easy compared to teams like Dallas and San Jose. Dallas' nearest division opponent is about 800 miles away and San Jose's is about 500. At least Detroit has teams like Columbus and Minnesota...
