Yes the cap hit was what I was referring too sorry. I can't believe how quick his pay drops in the last half of the contract. I didn't expect to come back on here today and find the 17 year rumor to be true!

Do you guys think Datsyuk is still underrated around the league? I remember a few seasons ago, you barely ever saw him being promoted by the NHL but he seems to be getting alot more recognition lately, he has featured alot more on the official NHL site. Such a great player.

Agree with both you and Yzerman191. It certainly makes you wonder what he's thinking...man I would LOVE to have him on the wings. For the right price and minimal impact on our depth....I can dream right?

It looks like Kovy is unsatisfied with the offers, possibly wanting more money. Realistically though, it could be that he is not happy with the teams who are offering. Really we don't know which is the case until he makes a decision.

I would love for something to be done about diving. It's the worst part of just about any sport. Luckily it's not as bad in the NHL as some other sports *cough* NBA *cough* Look at soccer, I mean no offense to soccer fans, but I have found the world cup to be just about unwatchable. The diving is a joke. The problem, like a few have said, is that it's such a hard call for a ref to make in real time. People dive because it works. I'd love to see a post game fine system implemented but it would never happen.

I can understand the penalty, but it was kicked into him from close range at high speed. No way it was an intentional handball. There was absolutely nothing he could have done to avoid being hit by that ball.
