Yea for sure. Hopefully Boston don't let it slip.

Just went back and watched the Habs v Pens highlights. What the hell was Gonchar doing on that short handed goal?? One of the worst plays from a top Dman I have ever seen.
-
Wow, there is now a distinct possibility of a #8 v #7 in the East Conference Final.

I would hope that the fact Phoenix and the Pens are both eliminated would put a lid on these theories. I wouldn't be surprised if people just move on to another team though. Expecting to hear some "League wants the hawks to win" comments somewhere down the line. The pace of the game, the interpretation (s) of the rule book and inconsistency is what hurts officiating. Nothing more. At least that's what I think.

Luongo was bad thats for sure. Today however, his D was the weak link. Absolutely terrible. He was hung out to dry on a few of them.
-
This is true but the problem is that he's being paid 5m+. Therefore expectations are going to be HIGH.
-
No no no no no. Unless he wants to play for under 2 million. I really don't like the idea of spending such a large amount of your cap on a position that is so temperamental. Would much prefer we stack the blue line.
-
wow the nucks D has been awful. Luongo looked like he let that last goal in to spite his Dmen haha. Like Carmen said,It's games like this that make me glad we don't pay goalies the big $$. No one is consistent enough to earn it.

I think you make building a stanley cup winning team sound too easy. Not much is going to change, we can't really afford it. It's just going to be little things. Unless Lids decides to retire.

Game 4 of the WCSF was obviously amazing but I think I'll give top honours to game 7 against PHX. I was so nervous going into that game and the wings made Phoenix look like an AHL team. Every single player out there played a terrific game. The demolishing of the sharks was great but it's somewhat lessened by the fact that we were 3-1 down.

I've seen a few people on here mention Johnson and I'm not really sure why. Granted I havn't seen much of him, but his numbers are certainly not encouraging. Year GP G A P +/- PIM 2007-2008 Kings 74 3 8 11 -19 76 2008-2009 Kings 41 6 5 11 -18 46 2009-2010 Kings 80 8 28 36 -15 48 I realise the Kings are not the best Defensive team out there, and this would obviously contribute to his poor +/- but even so, is he really going to be what the wings need? Like I said, I havn't seen him play much myself so perhaps the numbers are misleading. Can someone give me some upsides? ...if he's a feasible (affordable) replacement for meech and lebda then I guess we wouldn't be any worse off.
-
I really like Eaves so I hope he comes back. Miller would be good too, assuming the price is similar to what he earnt this year. Same goes for Lilja, he has been really solid and I'd take him every day over Lebda. Williams is a goner, that's a no brainer. Bert is an interesting one. I don't want him back. Atleast not in the same role. I think I would like him a lot more if he weren't supposed to be one of our "top 6" forwards.

Just finished watching. It's fitting that this series ended like it did, a blown call right before a GWG. Saying that, the sharks deserve this one. There's always next year... Go Wings.
-
Yet another game I wont't be able to watch live thanks to work. Just win. Go wings.
-
Just finished the game. Nice to see the Mule has been released. Still a long way to go, but anything is possible against the San Jose Chokes. Go wings.
-
Get well soon Matt!
-
Go Wings! Will have to miss this one, thanks to work. It starts with 1! Let it be tonight.

Don't forget Mike Green. But seriously, I really like Volchenkov, he's a good shutdown guy but like you say he doesn't provide enough Offense. Wings don't have the cap room to pick up another offensive D-man as well as Volchenkov so I'm not sure he'd be the best replacement. This is assuming he'd be making atleast 5 maybe 6 mill? If Kronwall could step up his game then perhaps Volchenkov would be the way to go. At this point though, I'm not so sure. Having said that, I can't really think of anyone else. Do you think we would be better off going for a cheaper D-man, then using the money we save, go after a pure goal scorer? Edit: Here's the list of upcoming UFAs for those who are interested, http://www.capgeek.com/ufa_finder.php

They would draw revenus, no one said they wouldn't. It just wouldn't compare to original 6 or Canadian teams. It's not really up for debate. It's just true.
-
Off topic: sorry didn't want to create a new thread just for this, but talking of lineups..is Eaves back for game 4?
-
If game 4 were to be his last. A lidstrom chant would be cool.
-
I'm impressed with his ability to be consistently terrible. He's probably our most consistent player.
