Holland "Not Optimistic" about re-signing Hossa
crotty99 replied to HockeytownRules19's topic in General
I think its actually a problem with the way they are asking for his signature. Holland: Ok Hoss, we are gonna need your whole name on the dotted line here. Hossa: My whole name? Holland: Yep thats right, Most of your name just won't cut it. You can't just give us most letters and not finish the job off with the rest of the letters. Hossa: hmm How about if I give you two letters for every 4 letters in my name? Holland: ..... *facepalm* Hossa: Maybe hank could finish the rest of it for me?? Haha sorry i couldn't resist! -
I really like the kings lately, not sure why. They have a good group of young players who will probably all be superstars in their own right some day. So if Hossa does end up there, I wish him the best of luck. Not really what i would call a cup contending team though is it Hoss. At least not yet.

Whilst the memories of this man may be bitter sweet, i have always enjoyed this moment:

careful, some members here would probably agree with you! (i know your being sarcastic

I would be happy with "Hey hey hockey town"

You can stream the award show here: http://www.ustream.tv/channel/TML-Live If that does not work out then there is bound to be more posted here: http://www.myp2pforum.eu/nhl-icehockey/

Really? Thats cool. Im assuming people outside Canada are locked out though.

Unfortunately i don't see Lids winning the Norris this year. If his streak has to end then i would much rather it be broken by Chara. Mainly because he is the only other dman up for it from what i can see I have a bad feeling Green will get it though. Don't get me wrong he had a great year, but it doesn't seem like he should get any kind of defensive award.
-
I would take him in a heartbeat at 4m. As a side note: Does anyone else wish Babs put Dats/Z/Hoss out together? Obviously not for a game because that would strip us of depth but i would have loved to have seen them out there every now and then. It just seems like it should be perfect.

haha that made me laugh.

I found some helm shirts. http://www.sportsk.com/redwipltsh.html

I think that he will be staying. I have a feeling it would be less money than Z and D. Even with his bad PO's we all know what he is capabale of so if he wants to stick around for a decent figure why not? If he wants => D/z money then yea bye bye.
-
Sorry im confused, if Hossa walks why couldnt we sign J-bo? 7.45 comes off our books and wasnt Jay only making 4. something? I guess that figure would jump but surely not to Hossa type salary. edit: oops i didn't take into account Z and mules pay rises. I see now. Also as a sidenote i think we will be resigning hossa. But i think it will be for alot less than what hes on now. He wont be making D/Z money...but maybe im just crazy. If we did get jay though i would want to unload one of D but rafi and stuart are both NTC.

Yea we did get roughed up by the duckies at some stage. But who won the series? The ducks are considered to be one of the more grittier teams in the leauge yet they didnt get past the 1st round last year or the 2nd round this year. I wonder if their boards want more Europeans. I do agree that this team lacked the hunger this year (very obvious during the regular season). However whilst bringing in some "grit" might give us a bit more drive and hunger i don't think it would be anymore so than brining in a few more skill based players. Except you would have less skill. I think in most situations replacing Drake with Hossa would produce better results than the other way around. Hossa didn't have a great PO's though hence the words most situations

Ok you have won your cup, we have given the pens credit. Now please stop.
-
I would consider J-bo a rafi replacement and not someone who could take lids spot. But im pretty sure rafi will play out his whole contract here. I dunno maybe he could be a good lidstrom "replacement" but its too hard to think about. Everyone else just seems like such a liability compared to nik Seriously its going to be interesting times when st nik leaves. Saying that, i do really like what Jay brings to the table and think he could be a good fit for the wings. his +/- is scary but he was playing for Florida. Not sure how realistic getting him here would be.

That's not the point. Say it all you want in your posts or whatever, that's your opinion. But why go to the point of displaying it in your avatar as if your proud of it or something? I dunno to me it just seems like an odd thing for a fan to do. Like i said might as well chuck a pic of franzen on the ice at the end of game 7 with the title "loser", if you like displaying the teams failings to everyone so much.
-
i know, i knew what you meant by it and i appreciate that...but its 10.30pm over here, the game was on at 8am. I guess it still feels too soon. Maybe i'll feel better in the morning

This kinda makes it worse for me, makes me think of what could have been haha. But thanks anyway.
-
Not exactly an easy thing to insert into a line up. If that were the case Stevie wouldn't be remembered like he is.
-
Sorry but why? Does that make you feel good or something? Are you happy that he underperformed? Why would you display it as your avatar under the title of playoff choker? You might as well put some pics of the wings bench after the 3rd with the title "losers" would that make you feel better? seriously wtf is your problem.

Game 7 mistakes or not, give me Stu annnnnnnnny day over any of these guys.

Fatigue obviously played a massive role. Just watching the game that was very obvious. I thought we came roaring out to start the game then as soon as we hit the pk we were coasting along until the last 5 mins of the second and parts of the third. Its not an excuse but its something that should be recognized. They are only human. When a team is physically burnt out they need a little bit extra to push them over the line. Something mental or emotional, some people might call this hunger and i would agree. This is why its so hard to win back to back. We didn't have the hunger. note: that doesn't mean they didn't care about the game or the situation, i hate it when people say that.

I would never blame the whole game on him but he was undeniably a huge factor in the outcome.
