so i dont know hockey because i am defending rob niedermeyer because he nothing to do with the hit and you wings fans (not all) are trying make him look bad when had little part in the play. if you have ever played hockey you know that it is so easy to make a quick mistake and make the wrong choice. i mean i hate to bring this up but you guys have a player on your team that made one of the biggest misjudements in nhl history so of all people to understand this i would think it would be wings fans. i think it is unfair to say that pronger was hitting holmstrom with intention of seriously hurting him and ending his career. NONE of you know what goes on in his head and it is unfair to pronger to say that he was intentionally trying to hurt holmstrom. so talk about respect? try respecting a player and finding out what truely going on in his mind before you make a quick judgement about someone

Edit: Daren Dreger at TSN makes a good point about Rob's involvement in this. He had a clear view of Pronger coming in to make the hard hit on Holmstrom. Wienermayer had the opportunity to let off, instead he chose to go ahead and board Holmstrom anyway. Cheap shot by both frustrated Ducks, both should be suspended for that hit. well the fact that pronger was behind tomas holmstrom when rob made the choice to go in for the hit makes me think the he was thinking that pronger was settin holmstrom up for the hit. pronger was basically forcing tomas into the line of fire so to speak for rob to hit him which isnt illegal to do and happens every game. any harsh words or actions towards rob is uncalled for and unjustified

ok 1st off i would liek to apologize to any wings fan that was offended by any of my post last night. i was not at all focused and was very distracted by alot of things going on. mostly just quick stupid replies to topics and your guy's replies. secondly the hit was a lil over the top because pronger hit high and followed through with his elbow and glove. if he hadnt i think it would have been a clean hit. does he deserve to be suspended? yes for one game and a huge fine. i dont think he should be suspended for the rest of the playoffs and some of next season because thats just a ridiculous amount for one hit. Holmstrom is fine. nothing really came of it as of now and i believe that holmstrom coming back in the 3rd sealed prongers fait that he wont be suspended for that long if he is. The NHL is in a tough predictament here. do you suspend a top defensemen in the league in the western conference finals and give the wings the upper hand or let it slide and basically stat that unless you hurt the player then you wont be suspended? frankly i think he should get 1-2 games and 100k fine and a public apology to the red wings organzation and holmstrom.

im sorry but you guys are being little bitchy about this hit. if holmstrom had gotten up from that hit noone would be saying it was a cheap hit. the hit was not a cheap illegal hit. Holmstrom got laid out and hit his eye on the glass and thats why he bleed.

okay i wasnt going to say anything but after last nights game i figured id say something. why the hell is your guys' camera so low at the joe! there must have been 30 incidents of fans standing up and blocking the view of the game. it was so ridiculous!!!! is it just on versus? or all of the games like this? i dont see how you can spend over a 100 million dollars on an arena and have such a mistake of the placement of the cameras. i know Det. isnt the only one and id have to say Dallas is by far the worst. does this bother anyone else??? sorry for the non hockey topic

omg thank you! everything goes in the playoffs. 50% of the time the cheap shots and other unnecassary exchanges arent even caught on camera and i would say most of the time its even for both teams by the end of the series. please dont start beign lie canucks fans and bitching and calling the ducks cheaters

is it just me or is the ice in not very good shape today? seems liek everyone is failing over and catchy edges. that are theres snipers in the building lol also no offense but the joe's camera angle is horrible constantly seeing fans standing up and blocking views its really annoying! alot of teams in the nhl have this problem like dallas is even worst then the joe

replys to your replys... 1. pronger IS a wings killer! the only time you dominated him was when it was the st louis pronger vs the red wings. Look what happened when he was on Edmonton they swept you guys and beat as well pretty badly. Now you put pronger on an even better team i think he will have a huge role in this series. 2. i put quincey ahead of lilja for the simple fact that on 5 on 5 hockey i think he quincey is better. yes lilja is a very good PKer but besides that id take Quicey over him. Not to mention i was really tired last nite when i made that list and forgot 2 ducks defensive says it all 3. i didnt have perry centering the line i put it that was because in socal we call it the PPG line. penner perry and getzlaf. i know getzlaf is the center on that line but every now and then perry does get thrown in at center. (he did play center for majority of his younger years) i still think that its going to come down to mostly the PPG line and the 4th line matchups. We are getting Marchant back who we havent had in the playoffs this season and he is one of our top PK players. I am interested in seeing who RC rolls out on the 4th line. will it be 80's pornstar parros? thorton? the baby kariya as i call him Shannon or May? Im almost 100% sure RC will have Marchant centering the 4th line and i think he will throw out thorton and may with marchant. The one thing that is really bothering me about what some wings fans have said and EVERY Casucks i mean Canucks fans have said is that Anaheim only rolled out 3 lines for the 1st 2 series and that the Ducks are going to be tired. They are completely wrong. With Marchant coming back and having 4 players rotating 2 slots the Ducks should end up being the healthier of the teams. Not to mention if anything the ducks have had to much time off and are a little to rested

i think that alot of wings fans dont give some of us ducks fans enough credit. I mean i am no expert on hockey but i do know more then most hockey fans in any city and state and i can hold a good debate or conversation about hockey with the best of them. And yes i am from ORANGE COUNTY!!! and know i do not know movie stars, i dont live in a Giant house on the beach and no i am not flithy rich lol on allducks we have some of the smartest, most knowlegdeable hockey fans on this planet. if you ever get to go over there and talk with guys like Wildcat and Dark Knight they know puck better then anyone i know. well if you are talking depth on defense then i think that the wings are on the shorter end of the stick. You are deffently underestimating the ducks D. Pronger is a wings killer as you remember last year and frankly so do the ducks! Niedemeyer is the best skater in the NHL and doesnt seem to get tired no matter how long he plays for. Beachumin is one of the most underrated players in the NHL. past Lidstrom the ducks have the better D order i believe is from best to least best... 1. Lidstrom 2. S. Niedermeyer 3. Pronger 4. Beauchemin 5. Schneider ( who doesnt even play a role in this series do to the injury) 6. Chelios 7. Markov (even though he hasnt showed up in the playoffs) 8. Lebda 9. Huskins 10. Quincey 11. Lijla 12. Dipenta i really dont think that 8-12 are really going to have much positive effects for either team. If wings and ducks are going to be rolling basically the top 2 pairings then i feel the ducks have a slight advantage. I think Beauchmin is a real dealbreaker for the Ducks on D. I dont think either teams D is going to make or break this series. its the matchup of the Shut Down line of Moen-R.Niedermeyer-Pahlsson (wins my vote for most underrated player in the league) vs. the Datsyuk line. also if the Ducks can keep the best man in front of the net man in the NHL (Holmstrum) then they will have a good chance at winning the series. But if jiggy cant see the puck cause he is screened then he cant stop it and if that happens alot in the series i would give the series to the wings. You guys are in for a surprise though with the kid line of Penner-Perry-Getzlaf line. They are going to make it rough for chelios down low and dont be shocked to see them dominate.
