Tears of joy maybe I'm not bitching about anything. I was making a statement. I can banter with you if you'd like. I don't know if I have the energy, but I can try. I was just trying to get people to not look in such a condemning manner at Scotty. He's doing the same thing any Captain would do. Dude, I play the game. I know how dangerous that hit is. I hate boarding calls no matter who delivers them. I love Jiggy to death, but if he was to board someone and they got 13 stitches, I'd hope to GOD that he got suspended, because it's wrong. So I hope that wasn't directed at me.
-
Don't get me wrong, I DEFINITELY think Pronger deserved a suspension. As soon as I read about it I knew he deserved one. It puts a bad taste in my mouth when the Ducks make dirty plays. You have NO idea how pissed off I was when Teemu was caught using an illegal stick. I was crushed. But, I don't think this is really fair to attack Niedermayer about this. If your 2nd best Defensemen was suspended for something in this situation, Lidstrom would be saying the same thing (if the tables were completely turned) Just let it go, my God. Pronger's been suspended. You have the series lead. There's no reason to attack a class guy like Niedermayer. EDITED: I meant to say suspension, not penalty.

Yes, but Staples doesn't have Edison Field right on top of it and Disneyland and Knotts Berry Farm around the corner And Staples doesn't know that people actually play hockey in May

Oh, I forgot I posted a crying smiley about how I am crying. Mind lending me a tissue? I'm sure you have plenty.

Hmm, I don't know if it's been mentioned in this thread, but I'll bring it up. Several members have been complaining that Ducks fans apparently 'cheered' when Holmstrom was injured. Seems kinda hypocritical to condemn Ducks fans for cheering (after a big hit no less) when you were all celebrating and applauding yesterday when it was announced Kunitz was out for the season with a hand injury.
-
I don't think that's what he meant, but w/e. There's no point in putting in my thoughts because I get told it's biased and BS.
-
And SoCal traffic is a *****.
-
I'm glad you find it funny. No where do I hear Nieds saying "Oh, but we're nothing without Pronger! F**k the League! Now we're screwed!" He was making statements, and after last nights outcome, I'd be pissed too. In fact, I am pissed.
-
He's not whining. He just wants to know why his brother got the penalty and Chris is the one being suspended. He's the Captain. He's allowed to do that.
-
Which is why all I have to say is: "Huh? There was a Ducks game last night?"
-
Burke does the right thing. He stands up for his own players, which is what he promises to do every season. While he doesn't approve of what they do, he sticks up for his players. But, I'm not gunna go there....

oh where oh where have all the ducks fans gone

No, I live on the east coast. I go to bed around 10-10:30pm, depending how tired I am. -
Hasek talking to the ref during the game was considered 'bitching'? I'm a goalie and I always ask the ref questions. I ask what the call was on each penalty and why it was called. I ask why play was halted. I ask them what would happen in certain areas (different senarios and when they'd blow their whistles). I tell them about crappy ice and tell them when the net is off it moorings, blah, blah, blah. It's not bitching, it's called being informed so you can better do your job. Ducks fans are pissed, so they're gunna be making excuses. You'd do the same if you were in the same position.

Get used to it. The people on Versus are morons. It's also pronounced Bo-shu-may, not Bo-shu-man. They also put the emphasis on the wrong syllables for Marchants name, and half the time they say Giguere wrong. And where did this Teem-o guy come from? I thought his name was pronounced Tay-moo. They're just plain stupid. They also think you guys won the cup in 2003 and we made it to the Cup Finals in 2002

I had to go to bed before the game was over. I actually went to bed after the 1st. I still have school at 7:30 am everyday. I will still come around, even if you beat us 15-0. It was a crappy game for us. We all get an opportunity to stink it up. That was the Ducks opportunity. We come back, it just takes us forever to get home from the Pond -
Ok, I didn't get to watch the game last night and I am no longer in Anaheim so what exactly went on? I have never known Ducks fans to show poor sportsmanship. I do know hockey, I assure you and I do my best to show some class. Whatever it is they did, it already sounds like I'll be very disappointed in my fellow Ducks fans. And the Ponda is a very nice arena. That's coming from Kings fans as well, not just me

My reply to the title: Duh. It's in freaking SoCal. It's too hot to keep the surface good. But, you forgot the St. Pete Times Forum. I watch that ice melt while I'm at the game, before the guys even get on the ice.
-
The reffing is just as bad for both sides. We've had some pretty pathetic calls against us throughout the season as well. It's just horrible reffing. I saw we KILL MAGOO!!!
-
Aww, thank you! I need to encase myself in an ice pack. Do they make body sized ice packs? Maybe I can borrow one from Chelios or Hasek. Those old guys are bound to have ice packs And I don't disagree. I've seen the ice in the Pond. Hell, I've seen the ice in Escondido (not too far away from there) and it's crap. But, the worst is most definitely in Tampa. I can see the ice melting between the time the Zam is out there and the time the refs get on the ice. It's not pretty. I'm not offended by the truth, and I know our ice isn't great. What can I say? We're in SoCal, not up North Thanks for the good wishes. I'll be sure to stick around. Finals week is next week with studying all this week, so studying is important, especially in my Junior year Just gotta make sure I can watch the games

Teemu wasn't a team jumper. It's called coming to Anaheim (or maybe he was traded, IDK) then having a dumb ass GM who trades him to SJ, then going to COL to be with Paulina then coming back where he knows he should be. Not everyone is an Yzerman. And pointing out Teemu's points in his 4th year were better than Z's. Teemu has never been a player destined to be blessed with a high + or - rating.

That's perfectly fine with me, just don't accuse someone of ignorance when you yourself don't have the facts right (not directed at you KP)
-
That's pretty low, to applaud and wish injury on a player. And no, I don't do that to opponents.
-
If you're going to insult them and say they don't know anything about hockey, at least get your facts straight. The Ducks were the 7th seed and I believe a guy named Brodeur would dispute what you said about a talentless series. I know who all the players are. Are you assuming that they don't know these things because they're a Californian? Kelly Hrudey is an idiot. Goaltending IS positioning. What's the FIRST thing you learn as a goalie? The 6 positions. Left side goal line, left circle, left side blue line, right side blue line, right circle, right side goal line. How do I know this? I play. I do it every practice. First thing. To say HE makes hockey boring is hilarious. He doesn't have to make acrobatic saves. He doesn't flop his body around like Hasek and put himself in positions where he might have to. He's not as athletic, but that doesn't matter. It's not his game. There are so many styles of goaltending. To say Giguere is a bad goalie or not one of the top 10 is just ignorant, but then again, ignorance is bliss.

No better place for the Ducks to get the PP going at home. And no, I'm not showing up just because the Ducks won. I got hurt pretty badly in the second game I played (I had to fill in for another goalie right after my game) I'm not the biggest person ever (seeing how I'm a 5'8" girl) and I got sat on by three people, sticked in the face, kneed in the face (cut my lip open), slashed in the arm pretty badly and sent flying into my own net. I feel like I was in a car accident, and I wasn't even playing for my own team! (I'm a goalie btw) Just wanted to make sure no one thinks I'm trolling. I've been dead. Had no energy what-so-ever. And I figured it'd be wiser not to be on this board on game day that way there are no huge controversies. This series will get very interesting. Now I need an ice pack....

When the Sharks and Kings aren't playing, then the Ducks have fans
Duckette replied to a topic in General
Well, I haven't been here since 93, since I was only 3 then, but I've been here since my first ever game: Game 3 of the Western Conference Quarterfinals against the Detroit Red Wings in 2003. Never looked back since. There are dedicated fans. And you are totally correct in saying that it's just an opinion. And SD people can't really make that judgement seeing how they hardly get any coverage of either team down in San Diego.
